Power Book II: Ghost, a spin-off of drama series Power which ran for six seasons, premieres on Stan on September 6, same day as the US.

I noticed Netflix no longer had Skins it expired early August. I suggested it to Stan and noticed that on Facebook it says from this Saturday Stan has all seasons of the US Skins.

The show has gathered controversy from various conservative groups for its teenage depictions of casual sex and, especially with regard to underage actors.In the wake of a mounting scandal over a possible child pornography investigation of MTV as a result of the show’s content

Additionally, the television activist group the Parents Television Council filed a letter to the Department of Justice, asking them to bring a child pornography charge against the series, alleging a violation of 18 USC 1466A

Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson has joined new Stan drama Eden, which is filming in the Byron Bay area, according to the Sunday Herald Sun. It’s his first acting role in nearly five years.

Australia’s leading local streaming service Stan today announced it is ramping up its slate of local and internationally produced Stan Original television series and films, with volume to increase to over 30 productions a year over the next five years.

As part of this major investment strategy, Nine will direct the focus of its own production capabilities towards the acceleration of original productions for Stan.

Stan will also continue to build on its relationships with both state and national screen organisations in the development of its forthcoming slate – continuing initiatives such as the Stan and Film Victoria Development Fund and the Screen Queensland and Stan Premium Drama Development Fund .

The expanded original production slate will include investments and co-productions with international partners, including Hollywood studios and major international networks, adding to the global reach and relevance of Stan Originals.

New slate of upcoming original productions – Stan today announced:

New original production and development slate reflects its biggest commitment to locally produced content yet.

  • Eden , an eight-part, hour-long original drama series from Australia’s rising creative star Vanessa Gazy , and the creators of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Skins, is currently in production.

  • Bump , a ten-part, half-hour original drama series that stars Claudia Karvan , and reunites the creative team behind Love My Way and The Secret Life of Us , is currently in production.

  • Dom and Adrian: 2020 , an original comedy special from the creators of the Bondi Hipsters , Christiaan Van Vuuren and Nick Boshier , is currently in production.

  • After the Night , a four-part true crime docuseries exploring the harrowing legacy of one of Australia’s deadliest serial killers: Eric Edgar Cooke , is currently in production.

  • Christiaan Van Vuuren to direct a new Stan Original Film written by Elliot Vella, Gretel Vella & Timothy Walker that is in advanced development.

EDEN

An eight-part, one-hour mystery drama series created by emerging Australian filmmaker Vanessa Gazy , in collaboration with Every Cloud Productions’ Fiona Eagger and Deb Cox ( Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries , Seachange ), and Balloon Entertainment’s Bryan Elsley ( Skins ), Eden lays bare the dark and secret lives of a raft of characters after the disappearance of a young woman in a place that looks like paradise. Starring a diverse cast of young and up and coming actors, led by Sophie Wilde and BeBe Bettencourt , alongside Keiynan Lonsdale ( The Flash ), Cody Fern ( American Horror Story ), Cassandra Sorrell ( The Ugliest Duckling ), Claude Jabbour ( Stateless ), Alexandria Steffensen ( Happy Feet ), Christopher James Baker ( Ozark ) and Samuel Johnson ( Molly ), acclaimed filmmaker John Curran (Stan Original Series Bloom , Tracks , Chappaquiddick ) will serve as set-up director on the series, with AACTA Award-winner Mirrah Foulkes ( Judy & Punch ) also attached to direct.

BUMP

A ten-part, half-hour drama series co-created, produced by and starring Claudia Karvan (Stan Original Series The Other Guy ) alongside a fresh and diverse cast, Bump follows a professional mid-40s couple whose lives are upended when their overachieving 16-year-old daughter has a surprise baby. Co-created by former Sydney Morning Herald writer Kelsey Munro and co-produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond’s John and Dan Edwards (Stan Original Series Romper Stomper ), this fast-paced relationship drama explores the life-changing consequences of an impulsive teenage hook-up as they ripple out across a high school and three families in contemporary inner Sydney.

DOM AND ADRIAN: 2020

A new comedy special from Christiaan Van Vuuren and Nick Boshier , creators of the Bondi Hipsters , sees aspiring USBJ’s Dom and Adrian battling the woes of 2020. Locked down for the global pandemic, initially the two best friends see this as an opportunity to refocus. But as time goes on, it’s not their creativity and entrepreneurial-ship that is tested, so much as their friendship and sanity.

AFTER THE NIGHT

A four-part, one-hour docuseries, After the Night depicts the horrifying true story of Eric Edgar Cooke , a multi- modality murderer and one of Australia’s deadliest serial killers, who throughout the 1960s terrorised the city of Perth and its residents, cruelly and indiscriminately, as if for sport. Exploring a legacy of tragedy, grief, responsibility and redemption for the three men who were wrongly accused, Stan’s first ever true crime series is told through the eyes of a filmmaker returning to his childhood home and spending time with those closest to the killer and his victims – whose lives he altered forever.

**Stan and NBCUniversal Global Distribution today announced a long-term, exclusive content partnership that will see Stan become the Australian home of new productions from Sky Studios and NBCUniversal International Studios, as well as Peacock content produced by Universal Studio Group.

The deal will also see Stan become the exclusive home of new DreamWorks Animation TV shows produced for Peacock, in addition to NBCUniversal’s acclaimed children’s programming, scripted and unscripted content from Sky Studios; as well as iconic scripted library TV series and hundreds of blockbusters films from NBCUniversal’s catalogue.

The expanded partnership with NBCUniversal builds on Stan’s unrivalled lineup of international content partnerships and further cements Stan as the home of premium television and blockbuster movies from the biggest studios from around the world.

FORTHCOMING PEACOCK SERIES PRODUCED BY UNIVERSAL STUDIO GROUP

Dystopian drama Brave New World will premiere exclusively on Stan. Based on Aldous Huxley’s groundbreaking novel, the series stars Alden Ehrenreich ( Solo: A Star Wars Story ), Harry Lloyd ( Game of Thrones ) and Jessica Brown Findlay ( Downton Abbey ).

FORTHCOMING SKY STUDIOS SERIES:

Gangs of London , Sky UK’s biggest original drama launch of the year, produced by Pulse Films in association with Sister for Sky Studios, will premiere exclusively on Stan and stars Joe Cole ( Peaky Blinders , Black Mirror ) and SopĂ© DirisĂč ( Humans ).
