The Baker and The Beauty, currently streaming on Stan, has been axed after just one season, but its Aussie star Nathalie Kelley is still hopeful it can find a new home in the US.
That silhouette looks just like Trump, wonder if he can do a good accent though, Gleeson has played a yank commendably in the past.
Shame they couldnât get Alec Baldwin, his impression of Trump is a doppelganger!
I am so happy with this. The show really grew on me throughout its run, one of the best new series of the last year.
Stanâs second original movie for 2020, Relic, will be streaming from July 10.
Itâs very good. I started watching it from the first week and loved every second of it.
Hereâs the highlights for July
Weird to see the Olivia Newton John miniseries that was on 7 , two years ago, coming to Stan, thought it was made by 7.
ONJ mini series was produced by Fremantle for Seven.
Probably not made in house. Probably had another distributor once broadcast rights lapsed.
Great to see Wonderland added. I will give that a watch.
I thought Iâd seen that on 10Play.
Thereâs a show tile on 10play for the show, but it hasnât been on there since it originally aired on 10.
It is a little embarressing perhaps - but the trailer for Valley Girl looked great and was wondering where this would pop up in AU given it was direct to VOD in the US.
Will check that out.
The 1962 film version of West Side Story stars Natalie Wood and George Chakiris as Puerto Ricans, so they had brown face makeup applied every day. Puerto Rican actor Rita Moreno also had brown face makeup put on her face so her colour matched the tone of the other actors.
This movie is on Stan. Iâm guessing that sometime soon it will either be pulled or have a warning attached to it.
Showtime (US) have moved The Comey Rule to pre-election
According to The Australian, Stan will lose the vast majority of its Showtime content at the end of the year with ViacomCBS planning to put new programs as well as Showtimeâs back catalogue on its own streaming service.
The saving grace for Stan is its current deal means itâll still get new episodes for existing current shows it airs (eg; Billions)
Stan is going to rapidly lose appeal without Showtime content, no Disney content. Itâs already severely lacking original NEW content.
It might have to link up or merge with another streaming service.
Losing the Showtime deal wonât be the end of Stan, considering theyâll retain some quality and popular series, but theyâll definitely need to innovate more.
Cherry picking new content from other sources and commissioning more local content would be a good start.
