Big for Nine. Olympics,. EPL, Champions League, Melbourne Cup Carnival, Grand Slam Tennis, Rugby and now F1. They have the Champions League and no doubt they’ll renew too. Ratings in March next will be through the roof if Nine has the Australian Grand Prix

The Australian reports that negotiations between Nine and Optus have “progressed significantly” in recent weeks, and a deal to on-sell the rights, worth an estimated $100 million a year, is close to being finalised.
Last year, Optus chose not to renew its rights deals for Spanish football league La Liga, or the UEFA Champions League, signalling a shift away from sports streaming and a renewed focus on its core telecommunications model.
I think Optus choosing not to renew its deal for UEFA Champions League last year is incorrect, it was Stan renewing its Champions League deal with UEFA.

Doubt The Australian has watched a game of football in their life (other than 90s hooliganism highlights or the last Overhanded Police FC v Fans Club game), so their knowledge probably isn’t there.
