ARSENAL LEGEND THEO WALCOTT BRINGS PREMIER LEAGUE SPARK TO THOUSANDS IN SYDNEY

Sydney turned it on as thousands of Premier League fans gathered in Metcalfe Park for a Football Fan Fest, finishing the first leg of the Premier League Trophy Tour Down Under on an electric note.

The event, where fans were able to get up close with English football’s most iconic silverware and snap a photo with Theo Walcott, saw football enthusiasts unite to celebrate the world’s greatest football competition in the heart of Sydney.

Mark Bosnich, Adam Peacock and Craig Foster also made an appearance, as fans viewed a live recording of Stan Sport’s resident football show, Added Time, before partaking in a Q&A with Walcott and watching him in the dedicated skillzone.

The tour officially launched earlier in this week at Sydney’s iconic Taronga Zoo, where Walcott and the trophy came face-to-face with some of Australia’s most famous animals in a unique welcome.

On Thursday night, local club Manly Vale FC won a special grassroots competition, receiving a visit from Walcott and the Premier League Trophy. Hundreds of junior players took part in a coaching clinic with the former Premier League star mentoring the next generation of talent.

Walcott also experienced Australian sport firsthand, attending last night’s Roosters v Rabbitohs NRL derby. After the Roosters’ epic win, Walcott was invited into the sheds by coach Trent Robinson to address the team, while players had the opportunity to get their own moment with the Premier League Trophy.

Stan Marketing Director, Michelle Chandran said:
“Our goal was to bring a global competition to life in local communities across Australia, and the response has blown us away. The passion from fans at Metcalfe Park was the perfect way to celebrate the Premier League - and the opportunity to be able to take Theo and the Premier League Trophy to Manly Vale FC is a reminder of what sport is all about - bringing together an extraordinary, growing community right here in Australia.”

Premier League Legend, Theo Walcott said:
“Seeing the passion for the game here in Sydney has been nothing short of incredible. The energy from the Football Fan Fest was a clear indication that the appetite for world-class football in Australia is stronger than ever. Australia has always had a massive sporting heartbeat, but the connection these fans have with their clubs, even from thousands of miles away, is what makes football so special. It’s been an honour to share this moment in such an iconic city.”

The tour now heads to Melbourne, where fans will pack a sold out Hickens Hotel with Theo Walcott and Stan Sport Expert Adam Peacock for a live watch party of Arsenal v Everton, Chelsea v Newcastle & West Ham v Man City early tomorrow morning, before a media call at the MCG on Monday, where media is invited to join the Premier League Trophy, Theo Walcott and Melbourne Demons AFL players from 10:45am.

The Trophy Tour then continues with another sold out Pub Fan Night at The Sporting Globe Bar & Grill Richmond, before heading to Brisbane.

The problem was that they did not clearly separate the lines for Theo and the trophy at the start. And by clearly, I mean signage.

It wasn’t a problem, you just follow the line for the trophy or Theo. Not sure what you are complaining about.

I had to ask.

Why is TNT Sports’ coverage of PSG v Liverpool available to Stan subscribers, but not Sporting Lisbon v Arsenal?

Sporting Lisbon v Arsenal is on Amazon Prime in the UK - TNT does not provide coverage.

Probably because it’s rubbish :joy:.

Martin Tyler is a better option IMO as was the commentary for Real v Bayern this morning.

Listening to TNT , the commentators just shout during the whole game it’s too annoying to listen to, it ruins the game for me.
