Still don’t think there’ll be much of an audience for it. Needs something to rattle the cage.
10 really needs to tell the audience what time the show will be on, not just the night it will be on.
Ten just need to advertise it once in a while. Apart from The Bachelor franchise and Masterchef, Ten doesn’t seem to advertise many of their own shows.
It might help as well if they branded the sports segment during 10 News First as Sports Tonight.
Just like they did in 2011-12
Does anyone know what font ST uses for their graphics?
And on the night that ST airs, have the presenters cross to a short “Coming up in ST” segment similar to how Hot Seat will cross to Nine News.
They need to either put it at 6pm Monday as a recap of the weekend show or 6pm friday to preview the weekend sport.
they should show Sports Tonight live on 10 Bold at 6 or 7.30pm 7 days a week, with 10 screening a late edition on some of the nights.
I actually think this is a good idea. Air it 7.30 Sun-Fridays or weeknights, and air the replay ~ 10.30pm on 10.
The problem with that is the news will be out of date by 10.30 as AFL/NRL/Rugby games are played at 7.30pm at night
Why not like this:
10PM Weeknights on 10Bold instead of the primary channel.
Or 9:30PM Sunday Nights on 10.
They’ve tried the Sunday nights on 10.
then show it “as live” on 10. With all the updated results and scores from the weekend of Football.
Ten should think about moving this show to Sunday mornings. Obviously with a slight name change. Sports Today or sports Weekend etc.
How about Sunday Mornings at 9-10am?
Or even Sunday @ midday
Or air it 6pm on Sunday? Nothing has ever rated in that timeslot, and surely can rate better than what it is getting in its current timeslot (you would think…)
TV Tonight published last night’s ratings for Sports Tonight. Not good to be below 50,000.
That’s a shame. I watched last night for a first time in a while and it’s a solid product. There’s actually pretty good chemistry between the hosts and the content is interesting. Pity not enough eyes are seeing it.
Probably doesn’t help there is basically zero promotion…
…and that Ten has very little in the way of major sport, with Seven & Nine having the rights to most of the big codes/events.
