O’Connor came second in general classification behind Primož Roglič as he won a record-equalling fourth Vuelta a España title. O’Connor won stage 6 and took the lead in GC standings until he was overtaken by Roglič who won stage 19.

(Red Bull supremo Helmut) Marko confirmed Red Bull has offered Ricciardo an ambassadorial role, but isn’t convinced he’ll take it, especially if he’s not racing.

“I don’t think so,” he said when asked if Ricciardo would move to another series.

“And if he no longer drives actively, does he even want these PR activities?”

Brodie Kostecki has won this year’s Bathurst 1000 in the fastest time ever - 5 hours, 58 minutes and 3 seconds. He took pole yesterday and led from start to finish today. Todd Hazelwood also became a Bathurst 1000 champion as the co-driver.

Chevrolet Camaro took all three podium spots - Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup were second and Will Brown and Scott Pye were third.

I watched most of the latter stages, whilst I enjoyed it, to me, it’s just not the same as the old Commodore vs Falcon days.

These are not cars I can relate to, $90k plus for a Camaro is not affordable for most (me included) compared to the old Falcodores.

The traditional Melbourne Cup parade will again not be held in the CBD this year, due to major construction project works. It’ll be an intimate, ticketed event, at the Race Horse Legends Farm near Tullamarine International Airport.
