Cake by the Ocean? what a crap song, the only decent song on that list is Just A Girl by No Doubt.

Should it be a Hits station instead, not really Triple M more like 2day FM?

EDIT: I should do my homework first (not familiar with the area) there is already a Hit network station there… But still it feels more like “hits station”.

Who in their right mind would choose to keep Do You Think I’m Sexy? in the list?

I bet whoever was on the air while that was playing, made their dreams come true!!

Please tell me if Triple M gained any listeners by playing that joke?

If I was the the music programmer of the regional Triple M network I would be sacking myself.

This thread is somewhat difficult to follow, but I guess that sums up the mess that is Triple M.

Folks disagree, what’s wrong with variety all over the place. When we play our iPods we hit shuffle. The city stations playlist are far to narrow, Triple m included. People in my office after 3 hours say ok sick all rock now. Much prefer s station that plays a bit of everything

1…For a commercial radio station, it sound very unprofessional and half ass.
2…It makes me feel like blowing up my radio.
3…At times it sounds you are listening to their sister station Hit FM.
4… Variety might be all over the place but they have a very small playlist.

That’s most unusual, particularly when there are no Southern Cross Austereo stations anywhere in South West Victoria.

Even if it was Kerang, that would only make fractionally more sense, but not by much!

An iPod on shuffle, or a station on shuffle, nothing is wrong with either.

I think what the issue is here, is the abuse of the Triple M heritage brand. Triple M means rock, not variety. If you want a variety station, go ahead, but I do not think it should be named Triple M.

I agree. Female skewed music on Triple M just sounds out of place.

Dare I say it the Triple M playlist in Hobart is sounding good at the moment.

As a Hobartian, Triple M has been hit and miss from the day the name changed, but at the moment its very listenable.

Find myself listening much longer than I usually would. They have also added an On-Air anchor two the Breakfast show, matching their main FM competition, 7HO.

FYI, Rumour has it DAB commercial MUX is about 3 weeks away.

Don’t usually…

If that went out to Townsville as some may have speculated, how insensitive are they by playing Rain so close to the big weather event just ending. Never mind the fact that it’s one of the most pathetic cover versions I’ve ever heard (narrowly behind Madonna’s butchering of American Pie) that only gets airplay to satisfy local content laws (I doubt many would have actually purchased the song to help the drought appeal, that money only seems to go to Government types anyway)…

It’s just a song.

You could say the same thing about it being played in drought affected SCA markets such as Griffith or Wagga Wagga.
