At my gym they just played Mi Sex’s “Falling in and Out”
I was privileged to have grown up with The Rock of the 80s - 2SM
The 80s should have been a century. If you were there, you know what I mean.

So true!!
was just listening to AB logic’s “The Hitman” & can’t remember when I last heard this on the radio.
What even happened to Girlfriend, the aussie girl group.
Robyn was a backing singer at an 80s concert I went to a couple of years ago, she sung the operatic bits to Real Life “Send Me An Angel”. Amazing live vocal!
Don’t think I have heard a Girlfriend song on the radio ever, whether it be now or in the early 90’s.
Max (TV) used to play Take it from me quite a lot
true.
Does anyone remember the aussie boy band, Indecent Obsession?
Yes. I saw them live at St George Rowing Club on several occasions.
Tell Me Something is my favorite Indecent Obsession song.
What about this k-pop song from 1997? Remember it didn’t charted in Australia but I wish it did!
And by the way, Listen to this song and what radio station in Melbourne did it played (It’s a what if, it never happened.) I’ll would pick Fox FM and TT-FM.
Communication by John Farnham and Danni’Elle
A real lost 80s song to radio. I heard it on Its time on hhh fm.
Thinking of a few songs just now that were played to death in the 90s but barely rare a mention now:
Club Nouveau- Lean On Me (I used to sing ‘Wee In Your ‘Jamas’ as a kid)
UB40- Can’t Help Falling In Love With You
Four Seasons- December 1963 (90s mix)
I must say I’m still over those 3 songs. They did get a lot of airplay back in the day.
Some well played radio songs back in the early nineties (but maybe not played too much today?)
Without you by Mariah Carey
Cats and the Cradle by Ugly kid Joe
Stay by Shakespears Sister
Damn I wish I was your lover - Sophie B Hawkins
Save the best for last by Vanessa Williams
The day you went away by Wendy Matthews.
Kiss From a Rose by Seal
Some of the songs may still be flogged a bit on Smooth/WSFM? I don’t listen often enough.
Except that song charted in 1987.
There’s tonnes of these. A few more. And decent tunes at that too
Start The Car - Jude Cole
Seether - Veruca Salt
Someone’s Singing New York - Ghostwriters
Hear Me In The Harmony - Harry Connick Jr
Truganini - Midnight Oil
Aeroplane - Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Way - Fastball
All For You - Sister Hazel
Thanks @Radiohead. Ive just added most of these songs to my Spotify playlist. The only songs I had were Fastball and Sister Hazel.
Oh, really? I hear these songs all the bloody time on pretty much every commercial station in the country. Maybe not so much the Four Seasons, but the rest are too overplayed
