It’s sounding like smooth Relax that “replaced Koffee” was a mistake and now it is actually smooth Chill that has replaced Koffee.
A blunder. And a mess.

Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins is joining Smooth, starting this Saturday (AFL Grand Final day). She will be heard on weekends from noon to 2pm.
So Richard Wilkins and David Campbell have had their programs shortened by one hour, it seems. I hope they give her new scripts.
Emma Watkins joins smoothfm’s Saturday and Sunday line up with Melissa Doyle in breakfast from 6am, Richard Wilkins from 9am, David Campbell at 2pm and Cameron Daddo from 8pm.
Is Emma Watkins the Wiggle that was on Aus Story about Endo and is married/going out with one of the male Wiggles?
That’ll be quite a novelty for Smooth- having a presenter (30) that wasn’t even born when the majority of the music they play was released.
Omg I feel Ancient then
Emma married Purple Wiggle Lachlan Gillespie in April 2016 but the couple separated in August 2018.
smooth Chill is available on DAB+ in Adelaide according to RadioApp:
I wonder if smooth Easy was on the cards, but was knocked back because SCA had already come to the party?
Sounds like an absolute mess.
I really don’t get why Smooth think by having celebrities “voice track” weekend shifts will increase there ratings. It’s not like I say “must switch Smooth on to hear Richard Wilkins say they same intros as last week”. They should just stick to what they do on the weekdays and have proper announcers on
Personally I don’t care for Smooth FM’s strategy of having voicetracked content from celebrities over the weekend, but during the last survey they were the #1 music station on weekends in both Sydney & Melbourne (10%+ figures between 5.30am & midnight on Saturdays & Sundays in both markets) so there must be something about it which resonates with listeners.
Either way, it seems likely that Smooth FM is one of those stations which people listen to more for the music than any of the presenters even on weekdays.
Most definately. The music is very “safe” for any democratic as the range is 70’s to now which is good variety and you can always switch it on and be garenteed music instead of breakfast or drive shows with endless banter.
it’s also safe for a business as background music as well, which is mostly where i hear it in brisbane
Same in Melbourne
On Friday 18 October, Radiothon will broadcast on-air with smoothfm and live with 7NEWS to raise vital funds for lifesaving equipment, childhood disease research and services to patients and families.
Has Sydney’s Smooth FM “What’s on” segment ever contained anything but ads?
I’m not a big fan of the Smooth “Relax” brand. I understand what they’re trying to do, which is include the older smooth songs on this station. It’s fine to do that but the “Relax” brand doesn’t work in conveying this, and is just confusing - isn’t the main FM station supposed to also be relaxing? Albeit with newer music (well 80s at least).
I think they should have gone with Smooth Rewind for example.
