Tab and the Victorian Racing Club today announced a 4 year rights deal for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. One of the main aspects of the deal is that unlike in the past, Sky Racing 1 will be able to show Cup Carnival races live on Foxtel instead of on delay.

Sky Racing 1, 2 and Thoroughbred Central just showed up on my Foxtel Now streaming account. Previously these weren’t available via Foxtel streaming.

Sky Racing is blacking out coverage of Flemington today on the RWWA stream, which isn’t a surprise as they don’t have the streaming rights. But the TAB NSW/Vic stream is leaving the coverage intact. I didn’t think the streaming rights differed by state.
Even the placeholder is TABtouch themed:

Don’t know if anyone has capped screenshots of Sky Racing today during the TAB betting outage.
But without proper betting markets and pools to display, the only graphics most races seem to have is the strap at the top saying what race it is, and the logo in the top left corner.
Once a race is done, there has been no usual display of the finishing results. There is also no display at the bottom usually saying what races are next on the agenda with a scrolling market ticker.

Terrible day for Sky Racing. Clearly all their graphics are so linked in with the TAB. They didn’t even have the graphic saying what race was up next. Sometimes you didn’t even know what race you were watching. As someone who was looking forward to an arvo on the couch - unable to go to the races because of Covid restrictions- it was extremely disappointing.

Just tuned in now. No dividends or ticker and just switches to footage of the next race instead of using their split screen transition. They do display the interim results super, but only once the footage of the next race has been switched to.

They’re managing to let some graphics from individual clubs through. They’d usually take a clean feed in normal circumstances.

Starting to see numbers return just now. No UTAB (Qld,NT,SA,Tas) dividends yet. Host is explaining the gradual return, mentioned it being a power issue.

They had some issues as they are usually linked to the SuperTAB pool. Their website says:
“Due to Super TAB pooling issues currently only WA Pools apply for Tote betting. Fixed Odds Betting is not impacted and is available.”
