Sky News Regional

TDT will need to make up the multi-channel content quota of “1,460 hours of Australian content between 6 am and midnight” with presumably just 10 Peach and 10 Bold - assuming 10 Shake isn’t made available (not that 10 Shake has much, if any, local content on it).

Could explain why it is appearing in a handful of WIN markets, though oddly enough it looks as though Sky News Regional will be available on the Nine licences in Griffith (MTN) and SA (MGS/LRS) rather than the Ten stations. Hmm.

Your completely missing the point.

Odd that there is only select markets carrying the ‘new’ Sky News - although recent coverage of WIN carrying the main 9 affiliation again fails to mention SA altogether - makes me wonder if TAS/WA have been missed in reporting also

SNOW has been living on both 83 and 54 in WIN SA territory for a while now anyway.

Have you seen the ratings? Nothing to crow about and certainly not like Australia is tuning in en masse.

Where’s the far left wing equivalent opinion programming coming from to complement the far right Trumpists at Sky?

Any additional news content is welcome especially if there’s a regional angle in it, but don’t confuse news with opinion.

what’s a COVID politician?!

Obviously ‘Chairman Dan’ and Annastacia ‘Flush this Mob’ Palaszczuk, plus Mark McGowan for a good measure.

It’s been good for WIN, and it will be good for SCA. It gives them more money under a poor performing affiliation. It could even bring more revenue to joint-ventures if they wanted to. I’m sure Sky News would be more than happy to enter the Darwin and Central markets, or stay in WA, for example.

But as for the viewer, it’s terrible. Sky News doesn’t exactly offer a diverse product. It’s is blatantly right-wing and blatantly pro-Liberal. For anyone that doesn’t watch Sky News, just take a look at their YouTube channel. Every single political video is anti-Labor, whether it’s actually true or not. It’s gone from pretty neutral in its early days, to right-leaning, to now absolute Liberal propaganda. That’s not diverse. That’s not an ‘undoing of ABC’s inherit left bias’ that apparently exists. It’s just a pure coalition mouthpiece. That’s a problem because it’s marketed and lapped up as a trusted source of information.

I’ve often wondered the same thing myself.

While there are probably a few fringe websites for people who want hard left commentary/opinion, I’m not aware of any Australian TV, radio or print organisation having what could be deemed a hard left wing equivalent to Sky News’ hard right post-6pm lineup.

Meanwhile Scott and Gladys can do no wrong?

Incidentally, I don’t have overly favourable opinions about either side of politics these days just incase anyone’s wondering. But since I don’t really want to get into a political debate, I’ll leave it there for now.

Scott and Gladys have done a whole lot less wrong then Daniel Andrews.

That Daryl bloke took advantage of her.

To name a few: Victoria’s Dictator Dan, Queensland’s Premier with the weird name and WA’s Emperor McGowan.

And to the person who asked what’s the left equivalent of sky… ABC.

That’s what Sky News tells their viewers. Have you actually watched ABC News? I’ll give you some context; they are funded by the current Liberal government and would like to continue to be funded. You tell me how that influences ABC News’ content and get back to me.

Bit beyond the pale this comment, no?

I’m sure she’s been introduced on Sky News like that more than once. That’s the bar here.

oh trust me i’ve watched ABC… Watch them during elections, they use words like “we” when addressing labor at the election.

So only Labor politicians are “COVID politicians”? That doesn’t even make sense. And Premier “with the weird name”?

Seriously? Who’s the chairperson of ABC these days? She is hardly on the left. Shows like Insiders and The Drum regularly feature right-wing commentators, even those that would wish the ABC would disappear.

yes I believe Kerry O’Brien once many years ago accidentally once said “ABC” when he meant “ALP”. Spare us if that this deems the ABC a lefty outfit.

Oh well, that seals it. ABC is just too far left.

Unless I see or hear the context, I’m going to assume it was during a panel conversation with ex-Labor politicians.

Let’s not forget when interviewing Liberal politicians, ABC always makes sure the questions are easy and defendable. If it’s a Labor pollie, grill them until their time is up.

Why doesn’t Labor win elections? Because the media is on the Liberal’s side. It’s as simple as that.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on the labor only covid politicans, Steven Marshall in SA is an absolute coward after some of the things he has done.
