Looks like prison gates to me.

All news program shows have had their walls updated. Some on screen graphics will be updated in coming weeks and months.

Are all their shows presented in flash studios in front of an LCD now? Or just how they frame it? Looks awful.

These all look so incredibly dated… Guess it matches the audience.

Kinda like the glass effect on first edition but the use of a NY skyline across the day is a huge yikes. Guess for all the jingoistic flag waiving, News is an American owned and operated company after all

Damn, what a fall for Timmy.

The NY skyline is definitely for the YouTube market.

They need to use this

I don’t mind the new backgrounds, although the angles are inconsistent and some too close together. I didn’t realise the skyline was New York. Bit strange when they could have combined multiple cities and for opinion shows that use them, maybe then American influence or world influence.

I feel a lot of people are being overly critical because its on Sky News, i feel opinions would be a lot different if they were used on network news programs.

Have to give it to Sky News though for putting effort into some presentation/physical elements the past few years remember the look of the channel what 5+ years ago.

Just because we don’t like their content, doesn’t mean we have to write off everything the channel does.

I want to see context, as they just look like flash studios. What does a wideshot look like? Do they even use one?

I don’t think so. Personally I think they look awful and I’d like to think they’d have been slammed no matter what channel used them. At least they’re trying, I suppose.

People will say they don’t like the appearance, due to the content, however I think some of the criticisms are valid.

The New York background, even if it’s obscured, for an Australian news service is an odd choice if the audience they’re serving is meant to be Australian.

We do know however that they have a large online following in the US, as the opinion shows generate a lot of YouTube traffic etc.
One could argue that Sky’s content to a degree is driving the appearance, and if that’s the case the two aspects aren’t mutually exclusive.

Fiona Willan had joined Sky’s Sydney newsroom.

The Jury starts this Sunday, February 4 at 8pm AEDT.

Depends how much they are willing to give for it. Ten would have a price.

As opposed to the trash offered by the ABC with Q & A.

I won’t be watching the Jury on Sky because of Joe Hilderbrand.

Can’t stand him.
