Who’s next, the cleaners?

Probably not - they’re responsible for Seven’s on air presentation :sunglasses:

Gone is the long-standing familiar voice of announcer John Deeks.

@Sully your thoughts?

Outsourced to the Phillipines.

You joke, but does the freetv code of conduct allow networks to not take complaints via phone?

Just go to Martin Place and hold up a sign behind David Koch.

If John Deeks really has gone that’s a massive swing of the axe. Voice of the network for decades and shows up at Perth Telethon every year without fail. Shocking that there’s no fanfare for his departure if true

I don’t think he was actually answering the switchboard.

Times are tough. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Has he gone?

He’s only been showing up at Perth Telethon for less than 10 years. Was never there before thst.

Is John Deeks still doing voiceovers for The Morning Show? Because after Wheel of Fortune that’s probably what I remember him for most.

Of course I wouldn’t have any problems if Deeksey were to simply retire after many decades of loyal service (well over 40 years IIRC) but if it’s true that Seven have made an active decision to no longer use John Deeks for any voiceover work, that’s disgusting.

maybe it just means he’s no longer the greeting voice on the IVR when people call the Seven switchboard? or perhaps no longer the “please hold, your call is important to us…” prompt every 30 seconds while waiting for the operator :stuck_out_tongue:

He’s still doing lots of sponsor billboards.

Really unfortunate Seven have had to sell their “off-shore” content development and production capabilities in what is a global world. It was something that I have always felt put them above their peers.
