Susan Wood, Simon Francis, Kerry Stokes, David Leckie and Co sounded like a force to be reckoned with, a lot of media columns have summated over the years. Sounds like a very amicable departure too.
About time. Good at what she did (cover things up) but was an absolute nightmare for the people who worked under her.
David Leckie took over in mid-2003 with his goal to beat 9 in the ratings.
I get they need to cut the debt, but ditching Seven Studios is a very bad idea in the long run
Selling Seven Studios means Seven (the network) will lose copyright to Home and Away for the episodes that are produced from the date the sale is completed.
Anything could be negotiated in the possible sale contract, letâs not make assumptions.
Yes. I guess itâs possible that it could be sold on the basis that Seven still owns Home and Away.
All broadcasters around the world are shifting to become content producers.
Yet here is seven shifting away from content to become. A terrestrial broadcaster
Keep digging that ditch, seven
The biggest problem with them IMO is that most of the Seven Studio content theyâve produced in recent years has been terrible.
Dance Boss, Bride and Prejudice, The Super Switch, Zumbo, My Kitchen Rules, House Rules. All flops and terrible in quality (though the latter two have been successful earlier on). If they keep their Seven studio business they need to produce better content, otherwise they might as well outsource their productions to other companies who will produce higher quality shows.
Despite your constant Seven bashing, the sales overseas and to streaming services prove that they are not the flops you suggest they are.
Explain how? I only want them to do better but if they keep doing things which clearly arenât working then they arenât helping themselves. You need to find better things to do then to criticise people who make legitimate criticisms whilst also being critical yourself. I am a realist who is only mentioning what I can see. Unless you work for Seven you probably wouldnât know more either.
Constantly criticising promotes success. Explain how?
Letâs be honest, the same could be said for you and Nova.
Simple fact is, Seven is struggling and needs to sell its production house, which is sad.
No and yes.
if they do sell it, they will contain the rights the the âAustralian Contentâ, shouldnât they???
IF NBCU buys SWM, what happens to The West Australian and WA Newspaper Group?
It can be spun off and re-listed on the ASX.
