Week 49 2022
From a 6pm news perspective the end of the survey period is very obvious with week 49 the first week of summer ratings with big drops across several bulletins.
Across the 5-city market, Seven was down 52,000 while Nine dropped by 46,000. It was Seven’s lowest rated week of the year.
Wins on the east coast went against the trend during the survey.
Seven won Sydney by almost 20,000, despite dropping 15,000 from the previous week as Nine was down by 17,000.
Nine had its second consecutive win and just its fourth of the year in Melbourne to be 20,000 ahead of Seven. Seven’s bulletin was down 17,000 week-on-week while Nine dropped 13,000.
And in Brisbane Seven continues to close in on Nine’s lead for the calendar year with another narrow win across the hour.
In Adelaide Nine News bucked the trend with a 6,000 improvement while Seven edged down by 5,000.
Seven in Perth was the only other bulletin to rise, up 3,000 against Nine’s 7,000 drop.
