Seven & Ten News (SCA)

no, lost media is media that is lost forever. this would be in recordings, at the station or on people’s PVRs etc.

Then why don’t they release it to the public? Currently, the video form of this blooper is unavailable to the public. Surely someone out there has recorded this on their PVRs?

Why should they?

Why would they? It’s a blooper, of course they’d edit it out. Might make the Christmas blooper reel.

And yeah surely someone does, but doesn’t mean they’re on this forum or have any desire to upload it. Like it’s not that big a deal.

They don’t include the sport preview in any of the YouTube version of the bulletins, it was not deliberately edited out because of this. The YouTube bulletins only ever include local stories and intros.

Perk of living in our viewing area - you get to see all the funny bits.

The first sports tease has never been in the YouTube edit - which has always been about showcasing local stories.

Saying it’s a patch up is quite laughable. :joy:

Slightly off topic but do the ten network own stations in southern NSW, regional Victoria and regional Queensland or not yet? Maybe that will explain the slight change in the news updates?

Not sure about ownership and when the change kicks in (financial year)? but updates are still done out of SCA Tasmania. Doubt we’ll see any changes to news short term until SCA works out what they’re doing with the Tassie and other minor regional licenses…

The deal hasn’t been completed yet, due by the end of this month.

Doubt we will see any changes in the short term, maybe 10 will look to integrate those updates out of local newsrooms in each state in time.

They’d likely need some additional resources for this, the newsrooms are already pretty stretched as it is so they may look to take on the SCA journalists who are producing the updates for those markets.

It would be nice to have a proper cross from the news bulletins to the updates (like the afternoon news does with the metros) rather than just having updates randomly appear in ad breaks.

Also, hoping for someone based out of Canberra (rather than say, Sydney) for the ACT/NSW updates. Having that local perspective, and being able to be on the ground, may really help enhance the updates, though Will does a pretty decent job from afar.

Anyway, probably getting on a tangent in the wrong thread…

I wonder if they realise that Ten Northern NSW isnt owned by SCA now and would require WIN to agree to sell for them to own the former NRN station. I would hope they do realise this, but they might not given advertising bookings (last i heard) is done by SCA for WIN owned Ten Northern NSW

why would they not know this?

Given WIN is 10’s regional affiliate and takes (and pays for) their programming in NNSW I’d sure hope they know what they’re doing.

Both can sell into the station - from memory SCA represents NRN on a national level (e.g. in conjunction with SCA’s other NSW/Qld/Vic affiliates) and do retain local sales offices.

Americans arent the brightest bunch (look at their president). That aside it depends on what they know about the operating structures and who owns what. To those outside Australia, WIN having a Ten affiliate in one region when in most other east coast markets they are Nine affiliate might seem odd.

I’m not saying they wouldnt know, but I certainly wouldnt bet on the fact they know NRN is NOT part of the deal

Some strange commentary here.

Anyway, might want to read this

Forgetting that 10 is managed by Paramount’s UK & Australia division.

If correct it clarifies the situation
