Kim Millar has presented the Tasmanian news this weekend on account of Louise having her baby last week. It will be interesting to see if Kim will continue to present tomorrow or if Tom or Letitia will fill in.
Yes, had noticed that Kim had been presenting this weekend and thought that Lou must be close as she’s been looking very ready the past few weeks. Glad to hear she’s had the baby. There was also another weather presenter at different times lately too and I haven’t seen Murph for a bit… maybe he could return to the news reader chair for a while!
Ruby Commane presented Tasmania’s update this morning
Letitia Wallace presented Saturday’s bulletin in Tas with Lou on maternity leave and Kim having done a lot of nights. I think there might have been Tom Johnson one night as well but I can’t remember, has been a rough week where I missed most nights of the news.
Here are some SCA 10 News Updates I recorded on VAST (via VLC) tonight that I’ve uploaded on YT. Notice the different music beds between the QLD and NSW/VIC updates?
Sunshine Coast:
Central West:
Ballarat:
These are pretty good, short and sharp as they should be. News seems pretty decent and current too. Quality looks average, assume that’s cause they were recorded from VAST?
All the presenters seem pretty good too, Grace Evans in particular is quite good but the blinking is a bit distracting.
I agree that Grace Evans is a good presenter, given that she was reporter for 9 News in Bendigo before she started reading these updates
Makenna Baily is also a great presenter, while Sophie Jacobsen has improved slightly
Is production split between Lonnie and Hobart? Could be down to the stylistic choice of different editing teams?
The NSW, VIC and Tassie updates are produced in Hobart, while the QLD updates are produced in Launceston
Also worth a click through the photos on this thread for more photos in the studio…

Nope, doesn’t work.
Already saying “… with your local 10 News update”.
If I were 10 I’d be making sure they’re using the full & correct name.
If Ten cared they’d have brought production in-house like Nine did under the SCA affiliation.
Get your point, but those were local bulletins not rip & reads. These seem to have gotten better of late with some improvements having been made.
Still think 10 should have their finger on the pulse when it comes to these, especially when they’ve essentially given them free reign to use their news brand.
I don’t disagree, but it’s clear that Ten has gone for the hands off approach.
They should make an intro similar to Tasmania and Spencer Gulf bulletins.
