maybe if they work it out with Ten and renew their affiliation after their current two year deal expires they’ll consider it but only if the price is right
Wishful thinking but ViacomCBS just needs to buy the SCA license in Victoria, Qld and Southern NSW as well as the Win license in Nth NSW and be done with it. Will solve a heap of issues in those aggregated markets.
Yes
I don’t think a company that is betting it’s future on streaming (P+) has any interest in buying TV stations whose value is fast declining
WIN (whose only business is TV stations) probably wants to hold on to the station in the 4th largest TV market in the country. It gets them access to 2.3 million people and the 6th (Gold Coast) and 7th (Newcastle) largest cities in Australia. Also gets paid by News Corp to carry Sky into these huge markets - Sky’s biggest in FTA
To Win the station is probably quite appealing
Agreed. ViacomCBS are more likely to sell Ten before they buy WIN or other affiliates in Regional Australia.
I said just after the first day that I’d like to see how things were in a couple of weeks, once the presenters had settled in a bit and after a few tweaks to the format. I’m really glad that there does appear to be suggestions from here appearing, so thank you to whoever is reading and implementing. It’s great to see the tweaks occurring. Well done to the presenters who do seem to be improving as well after a while, it’s not an easy gig I’m sure with quite a few pressures that the viewers wouldn’t see.
I regularly see the TDT updates in the evening viewing, I’m not home often during the day so they’re the ones I’m more likely to see - although now being on Ten, I’m probably less likely to see them now.
Yes.
Scroll up a bit
Some use of the giant screen behind Kim and the rarely used camera angle to open tonight’s 7 Tas bulletin.
A large fire destroyed a pub in Hobart’s CBD overnight, the largest fire in the city since Myer in 2007 and the Bridges Brothers toy store in 2013.
When was the last time that type of introducing a story is used? I always thought Tasmania didn’t bother changing the never ending globe at their background.
It’s very rare, can’t remember the last time but it would only have been for a big story and likely a year or two ago so that’s why I thought I’d share it.
Similar angle (opposite side) was used for the flood in 2019
Notice the opening graphics are slightly based off Melbourne’s red and white graphics.
For comparison:
Ah yes, I reckon that would have been it. A big story and local.
Yet Tasmania’s look superior.
Looks fantastic! It would be great if this became a more regular feature, and not just for the opening story but for key stories in the bulletin as well. They’ve got the best regional set in the country and it even rivals some of their network counterpart’s sets, they should show it off more often!
Just saw one at about 9.10pm.
Big improvement in presentation compared to a few weeks ago - one COVID story, one sport story, and tomorrow’s weather.
The presentation and pacing almost made me forget how basic the updates are. Almost.
Plus introducing a Weather Preview just before the Second Commercial Break.
Another update at 10pm
“Manooka” Oval
Another one aired at 9:59… So two updates in HYBPA. There seems to be no consistency as to when these updates air.
At least people see them in HYBPA, I guess.
