There’s a schedule.
Tasmania’s morning update looks great with footage today. They even have a nice swipe animation between headlines ![]()
That’s a pretty good update for SCA. If they can get all the markets to that standard then they’ll be pretty good for what they are.
The Illawarra update that just aired had file footage at the end as well. Too bad they couldn’t get the Warrawong pronunciation right though.
Coming along very nicely now! It just feels odd without the theme playing in the background. They should get a copy of that alternate 10 News First theme Studio 10 uses.
Amazing what a difference some file footage or 10-20 seconds worth of footage for a current story makes to these updates.
If they can keep that up, and remember to keep the music bed going, I would feel comfortable awarding them five out of five winking broughies for presentation.
Such an accolade has never been awarded before. This will surely keep them striving for the best.
How did Sophie pronounce Warrawong?
She pronounced it the same way as someone would say the word “parra” (e.g Parramatta). So the “warra” in Warrawong rhymed with “parra”, if that makes sense.
TDT probably in a good position to get footage due to being connected to Seven Tasmania?
Some headline supers would be great, but what a difference that makes. Alex is turning into a pretty good presenter too, she looks a lot more mature recently like she’s getting more experienced with presenting the updates.
If they’ve made this much improvement to the updates in only two weeks, I can’t wait to see where they’re at by the end of this month!
The content and style of the Ten News Tasmania updates are really no different to the Nine News Tasmania updates that were on the same channel. It is the same newsreader.
We’re all aware of that, it was the expectation though that returning to the 10 affiliation would result in a delivery of what we used to see out of Canberra across the board.
The Canberra ‘local’ updates aren’t great, more’s the pity. This reminds me of a student project:
“Canbrans” is not a word. When I was at journalism school, we actually had to learn how locals described themselves for Australia’s biggest cities.
There is far too much copy on each story for television and why no overlay of Wimbledon?
A shame, with so many out of work journalists in Australia, that SCA can’t attract talent with a bit more experience.
Longest description of the use of QR code’s. It’s not necessary. Even for rip and reads surely they can put more headlines in the update.
In my opinion, Ten should probably put to good use their new affiliation and film the noodle updates for SCA instead of everything coming out of Tasmania
LOL no way 10’s going to do everything for their regional affiliate especially since their own operation is already bare bones as it is. The best we’re going to get is the 10 graphics and theme music.
Disclaimer: I’m limiting assessment to presentation of regional noodle updates, without consideration of content
