Seven & Ten News (SCA)

It’s a metro market, a small geographic regional market, it’s already branded as Seven and the fat has already been trimmed with centralised operations and a modern lean news department. It’s ripe for the picking out of all the regional stations.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. As Squee says though, once SCA decides they don’t want to do TV anymore they could get a bargain and with no real competition here it could be a good little money earner for them. Well, a consistent level of pocket money.

Why the Hell Kim Millar had to work during the Christmas New Year Break?

Maybe she chose to, like many of us are.

maybe she didn’t want holidays? maybe she hadn’t accrued enough A/L? Maybe they had no other options?

The annual 7 Tas News blooper reel closed out the bulletin tonight. Here it is - I think my favourite piece this year was Peter Murphy with the police car. Not as many as in previous years but still a bit of a laugh and a nice touch to end each year with from the team.

Also uploaded today is the latest generic 7 Tas News promo. These have been airing for the last week or two and I think are very similar to ones from 7 News as there was one that appeared with Peter Mitchell down here a couple of days ago that I saw. There’s quite a few local scenes inserted as well as the slogan at the end and Kim Millar featuring. They’ve also had some different promos but I haven’t found them online yet with the stories from earlier that evening or the day prior and talking about how Kim Millar is there with the news.

Bit of an odd one tonight, Kim Millar must have got her days mixed up at the end of bullentin.
“Cricket is next here on 7Tas, Goodnight…” Or something to that effect. Only problem is there’s no cricket on FTA tonight, Better Homes and Gardens quickly cut in.

We’ll forgive her after a crazy 2020 though

As much as I love Lou, after seeing Tom present lately I think he would have been a better choice as the permanent weekend anchor.

He’s improved a lot with anchoring the bulletins but I think Lou was the right choice.

She’s just done the past 3 or 4 weeks with only 2 or 3 nights off I think but Kim is back tomorrow.

Lou’s very harsh with her pronunciation of vowels. I know Jo was too at the start but Lou did Spencer Gulf prior for quite some time. Tom still seems in sport mode at times but think he would settle with more time at the desk.

he hasn’t gone anywhere.

Is he still presenting?

yes, as per above, he hasn’t gone anywhere.

Ah, right.

Where was I thinking he had left?

Is Tom Cooper still at Seven Tasmania?

No. Not for a long while. Could be working in state politics in a media roll.

What’s Judy Benson doing these days?

She’s doing PR at Incat ship building company in Hobart I believe.
