Seven & Ten News (SCA)

Well that’s just plain silly then.

Murph turns the big 60 tomorrow, 7Tas got a few people to send some well wishes. A bit different from their usual blooper style but a good touch. It’s something that I think 7 Tas does well and not many other stations (if any) do as well which is celebrating the achievements of their presenters but in a way that has the viewers also feeling a part of it. It’s chemistry which appears genuine and would be hard to fake.

7Tas have just uploaded their new promo video to the Facebook page. This one started airing last week on AFL Grand Final Day - during the day prior to the game but also during the game and since then.

What happened to the old weathergirl on Spencer Gulf channel 7?

She’s gone, they posted a photo with the new Weathergirl today.

Where did the old Weathergirl go?

Looks like Alex Sykes as the new weather presenter - she’s the one currently doing all the TDT9 updates in Tas.

Was that Britt as the old weather girl? It looks like she’s moved to SA.

From a post on 23rd October:

Today is my last day at Triple M Hobart, 7 Spencer Gulf News and SCA Hobart.
Next week, I’m moving to Mount Gambier to join the team at SAFM Limestone Coast as their newest Announcer.
I’m sad to be leaving my wonderful friends and colleagues here in Tassie, but very excited to see what the future holds.

Moved closer to the Spencer Gulf haha

Shame. Britt was less scripted, she knew what she was talking about. A good Weathergirl understands the weather.

This was posted on the 7 Tas facebook page during the bulletin tonight so I assume it was something which happened during the ad break. Also shows the chemistry between Murph and Kim as well with the way they can do that to each other. Also, again with Murph’s jokes at the end - there was a story about a zebra at the end which Murph knew about and then made a comment about Kim’s clothing being like a cross between a flamingo and a zebra which she hadn’t realised but had a laugh about.

Also good to see the professional looking shorts and thongs on Murph! It was a hot day in Launceston and for once Devonport too with 28 degrees and it’s not even summer yet!

Alexandra Sykes has been named as the new weather presenter for the Spencer Gulf/Broken Hill bulletin.

7 Tasmania State budget coverage

Would be interesting if they green screened a still of this as the backdrop in the Darwin and Central news updates. Obviously “Tasmania” would be covered up.

Possibly Letitia Wallace? She’s also a producer/reporter for the Tasmanian bulletin.
