Just thinking why is this is forum titled “Seven and Nine News (SCA)”. Could we make a Seven SCA forum like the nine news regional one that already exists.

Or have I missed something and there is an obvious reason why this exists?

This thread is for the Southern Cross produced bulletins and updates. Nine News Regional has its own thread because it is actually produced by Nine for SCA.

Yes.

Additionally, this thread is called part Nine News is to cover the Nine Tasmania updates which are fully SCA Nine-made. Hence why it’s not just added to the regional thread.

New Look Weather looks better

So they can put effort into designing new weather templates instead of using the network replica graphics that they already have access to for free? Priorities?

It’s nice to see the return of the bulletin though. I don’t want to sound like I’m trashing on the whole thing, only the graphics.

She’s a great presenter.

There must be some sort of restrictions from Seven to stop SCA using the 7 News music and graphics package on the SA bulletin.

It’s a great set in Hobart. It’s a shame they don’t shoot it wide more and show a “7 Spencer Gulf” on the front of the desk

Also a shame they don’t use a series of localized backdrops for both the TAS and SA bulletins rather than the generic blue globe one

But the 7 News theme music is used in Tasmania

So you’re suggesting that a different city appears on the backdrop every second story? Too jarring for viewers, you either choose one city/town (one for Spencer Gulf, one for Tasmania) and stick with it or you use a generic backdrop . The globe backdrop is a hundred times better than what SCA would be able to come up with on their own, doesn’t show favour to any one city/town in each bulletin’s broadcast area, and bonus is they can use it for Spencer Gulf and Tasmania.

Yes sorry you’re right. I meant to say: there must be some sort of restriction on SCA using the music and GFX of 7 NEWW on the SA bulletin (its a far less polished product, 7 may not want their stamp on it, or they charge SCA a fee per bulletin I’m not sure, but there must be a restriction or I’m sure they would use it)
