They have taken a direct copy of the Melbourne promo.

What’s the problem?
Is the same national promo that got localized for every market.
It’s really slick to me.
Two things, as already mentioned above.
The voiceover says, “7 News at 6“ and uses the 7 Tasmania watermark instead of the regular Nightly News one which identifies their specific bulletin.
Undoubtedly a decent promo, but just very inconsistent - something they’re not well known at anyway.

I’d say the inconsistencies are minor and easy for viewers to overlook. It blends in pretty seamlessly with the national promo that they borrowed.
Personally, I’d rather them do this and have one or two nitpicky inaccuracies over having them try and make their own thing and have it look nowhere near as polished.

It’s already out of date anyway so was probably only a temporary thing - Peter did his final bulletin on Friday night (at least I think it was Friday - all the days are a blur by now) and Kim starts on Monday with Murph back on the weather.

Channel 7 voiced concerns about an affiliate using their full brand that they didn’t have editorial control (which ignores the fact that 7 Darwin/7 Central’s news bulletin was called ‘Seven News’.)

You can’t really compare a decision made almost 20 years ago under different leadership to one made in the present.

But, and I know we discussed this to death at the time, 7 Tasmania News is not a SWM brand. 7 News would be, but given it appears to be mentioned as such on air I can’t see how Nightly News > 7 Tasmania is necessary
