Have they just used the same promo as metro cities with the same voiceover and just swapped some of the footage out with local scenes and half of the 7 Tasmania news branding?
When the Spencer Gulf News is on 7TWO do they adjust the local schedule if the network lineup isn’t a tidy half hour program that they can just cut out and replace? Or do they just cut the preceeding program early, or when the news is over just resume the network schedule as-is even if the original program is already halfway through?
The current program on 7TWO, 6.30pm - 7.30pm is Bargain Hunt. When Nightly News 7 Spencer Gulf is on at 7pm, SCA play a rpt of Medical Emergency at 6.30pm - 7.00pm, with their big ugly 7TWO watermark, (the same as clean feed days.) Bargain Hunt doesn’t go to air in Spencer Gulf.
I’d say the inconsistencies are minor and easy for viewers to overlook. It blends in pretty seamlessly with the national promo that they borrowed.
Personally, I’d rather them do this and have one or two nitpicky inaccuracies over having them try and make their own thing and have it look nowhere near as polished.
It’s already out of date anyway so was probably only a temporary thing - Peter did his final bulletin on Friday night (at least I think it was Friday - all the days are a blur by now) and Kim starts on Monday with Murph back on the weather.
Channel 7 voiced concerns about an affiliate using their full brand that they didn’t have editorial control (which ignores the fact that 7 Darwin/7 Central’s news bulletin was called ‘Seven News’.)
