Seven & Ten News (SCA)

On a slightly different note surely it wouldn’t be hard to having some standing presentation using a similar angle in future, just pan the camera around a bit and maybe zoom out a touch to capture the logo on the front of the desk.

John is probably in that spot to hide the “TASMANIA” on the desk :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You can even see Louise cringing as he speaks…

There is no requirement for SCA to provide local news within GTS/BKN so…

Yeah, axing or even closing its news service completely (God forbid both) is a voluntary option. Plus, the Spencer Gulf and Broken Hill, NSW are SCA monopolies. What other choice for TV news would those living there when they go on a break? Nothing.

A new watermark for 7 Tas news tonight with the hashtag to stay home. I know it was a couple of weeks ago but I killed my personal computer and now have it resurrected and I should have the 9:30 bulletin from a couple of weeks ago uploaded to YouTube soon.

With the SCA Nine channels now at NPC, some elements of the Tasmania updates are now in HD - the camera shot, super and weather graphics:

Looks a right sight better than Nine’s other noodle updates though… somehow

I’m not from Tassie but am curious. As SCA broadcast both Seven and Nine do the presenters ever appear on both channels.

Not quite - the Nine ones come from Hobart now and do occasionally include 7 reporters/presenters. I’m pretty sure Louise Houbar (formerly Hedger) has done a couple of the Nine ones but Ruby Commane above definitely files regular reports for 7. Some of the footage used is from 7 as well if they do show any footage

Just need to fix some sound issues, hopefully tonight - work has been going crazy.

In other news, 7 Tas is now showing the Premier’s update live - they’ve been Facebook streaming since Thursday but now they’ve gone to TV with them as well - previously only a few minutes would appear sometimes on ABC News 24.

A logical decision which they don’t understand.

I think I spot a blooper in the promo at the end of the live stream…

“… 7 News at 6…” while showing Nightly News footage of Peter Murphy. Also the ending tag doesn’t show Nightly News, just 7 Tasmania, no car shot.

Could 7 be taking editorial control? Could there be a change on the way here? Kim Millar is set to start on 20th.

Have they just used the same promo as metro cities with the same voiceover and just swapped some of the footage out with local scenes and half of the 7 Tasmania news branding?

When the Spencer Gulf News is on 7TWO do they adjust the local schedule if the network lineup isn’t a tidy half hour program that they can just cut out and replace? Or do they just cut the preceeding program early, or when the news is over just resume the network schedule as-is even if the original program is already halfway through?

The current program on 7TWO, 6.30pm - 7.30pm is Bargain Hunt. When Nightly News 7 Spencer Gulf is on at 7pm, SCA play a rpt of Medical Emergency at 6.30pm - 7.00pm, with their big ugly 7TWO watermark, (the same as clean feed days.) Bargain Hunt doesn’t go to air in Spencer Gulf.

Actually the Albury-Shepparton market gets a cut-down version of Seven News Melbourne at 6.30pm after their Prime7 local news at 6pm.
