Seven Sport

There’s a five minute gap between the Orr Stakes and the Apollo Stakes. Racing.com will also have comprehensive coverage of Saturday’s race day from Caulfield.

Already noted in the ‘Ten Sport’ topic. But it will be very interesting to see where she goes, could define her media career.

Should we expect a lot of angry people since 7 is airing the Olympics this year and is the the only network out of the big 3 that is yet to have/announce a HD simulcast of their main channel?

It’s highly likely to still be the case in August, especially with ABC also set to switch later in the year.

Good to see the Davis Cup on Seven and not 7TWO where it seems to always be scheduled

^ It is because of the quality of the opposition and also the fact 7TWO will show Australian Guineas from Flemington during day 2 of the tennis.

Great to see 7 using Jason Richardson as a presenter.

Women’s soccer on a male channel. That makes sense

It’s still sport.

The Daily Telegraph reports today Mel McLaughlin has signed a new contract with Seven and will leave Ten at the end of March.

Firetorch will be ecstatic.

Somehow, I’m not surprised. I’m sure Seven would be able to offer Mel McLaughlin much more in the sporting department than what Ten could!

Wouldn’t mind Mel McLaughlin call a women’s AFL game with Sam Lane on 7 next year. It has the potential to grow into the most popular women’s sport in Australia.

especially when the new boss of 7Flix in today’s Mediaweek made comments like “We couldn’t run The Mindy Project on Mate, it just wouldn’t fit”

Bit contradictory.

No doubt Seven will also use Mel as a host of next years Australian Open tennis coverage up against the Big Bash.

How.

The Mindy Project is a comedy show aimed at females.

These are professional athletes playing their chosen sport. It’s not aimed specifically at women.

Wise move for Mel to move to Seven. There are far greater opportunities for her especially with the upcoming Olympics. Her role on Big Bash was really relegated from host to boundary reporter. I’m not a big fan of her hosting capabilities but she’s fine as a reporter.
