Seven Sport

Yeah must be, although they’re taking it on linear for the main event on Monday?

Looks like better weather conditions for this year’s broadcast.

I’m confused by this - isn’t it already on 7 judging by the logo in the top RHS?
Or is this for Perth

This is captured from 7QLD. The message was for Perth, yes.

They probably think that doesn’t have to be made clear given the obvious timing difference between Perth and the rest of the country.

Seven put the channel change on the feed to all markets but its unusual to not include which market it is referring to.

Note that the logo usually doesn’t change anymore when viewing sport on a multi.

I thought multis had a 7+ logo in the corner

I don’t think they do anymore. I think all the channels get the same logo when showing live sport, no matter what the channel is.

They still differentiate. Below is 7mate on Friday.

The race for Glasgow heats up at Australian Athletics Championships

Australia’s top track and field stars, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport

Australia’s best athletes will take centre stage again as the Australian Athletics Championships return to Sydney Olympic Park, from 3.50pm tomorrow live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport

Across three days of world-class competition, the nation’s top track and field stars will go head-to-head with more than just national titles on the line, with many also aiming to secure selection on the athletics team for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will also be seen live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport in July and August this year.

Seven’s coverage of the Australian Athletics Championships will be led by Seven’s unrivalled athletics team including Bruce McAvaney, Jason Richardson, Sunrise host Matt Shirvington, Tamsyn Lewis-Manou and Mitch Dyer, bringing every moment of the action to audiences around the country.

To celebrate the golden run of athletics events hitting the screens of Seven, a special edition of Unfiltered will air at 9.00pm AEST Saturday, 11 April, on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.

Hosted by Bruce McAvaney, the special episode features global sprint superstars Sha’Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman, offering a rare look behind the curtain at life at the very top of world athletics.

In a candid conversation, Richardson opens up on what it means to be “in the zone” on the biggest stage, her ambitions for the years ahead, and her ultimate focus on the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2029. Coleman will share insights into the relentless demands of elite sprinting and the pursuit of excellence.

The Australian Athletics Championships will be headlined by Sunday’s highly anticipated Men’s 200m final – where, if they qualify – Gout Gout will look to turn the tables on Lachie Kennedy after their recent showdown in Melbourne. With both athletes in outstanding form, the rematch looms as one of the must-watch races of the meet.

Among the headline acts, Jessica Hull arrives in sensational form after winning two medals at the World Indoor Championships in Poland and is set to take on a demanding schedule across the 800m, 1500m and 5000m.

Peter Bol has enjoyed a dominant start to the year, winning his first four races of the Australian summer before returning from the World Indoor Championships with a bronze medal, while rising star Claudia Hollingsworth continues her remarkable unbeaten run in 2026. The 20-year-old recently defeated World Indoor champion Georgia Hunter Bell and is shaping up for a thrilling clash with Hull in one of the defining match-ups of the Championships.

McAvaney said the Australian Athletics Championships remain one of the most compelling events on the sporting calendar.

“This is one of the most comprehensive athletics line-ups we’ve seen in recent times. The breadth of events on show is exceptional, and it gives Australian athletics the kind of exposure it truly deserves – in prime time, live and free,” he said.

“The momentum in the sport right now is extraordinary. Off the back of the Maurie Plant Meet and the Stawell Gift, it’s been a memorable few weeks, building on some outstanding years of international competition.

“I can’t remember a deeper or more competitive national championships. The big battles in the men’s sprints and the middle-distance events, both men and women, are going to be something special. Not only are athletes chasing the honour of becoming Australian champion, they’re also competing for Commonwealth Games selection, which adds another layer of intensity,” McAvaney said.

“The Men’s 200m is a fascinating storyline. Gout gets another crack at Lachie Kennedy – there’s a bit of revenge on the line, and it will be exciting to see how that unfolds.

“And then there’s Jessica Hull. What she’s attempting across the 800, 1500 and 5000 metres in one weekend is virtually unprecedented. If she can pull it off, it will be something we talk about for a very long time,” he said.

Saw on socials that apparently 7 cut away very quick after the men’s 200m but watching in Melb, they have kept it on the main channel, Sunday foot feast was supposed to start at 2pm but it’s still the athletics

Seems to be a QLD thing only

Yes in QLD , HoW mysteriously appeared just after the race finished. 3 minutes later the race coverage was back.

Channel 7 cuts broadcast short after Gout Gout’s historic 200m run

Channel 7 has sparked viewer fury after an ‘idiotic’ decision mere seconds after Gout Gout’s historic 200m sprint at the Australian Athletics Championships.

Thousands were left disappointed as the station cut to an episode of House of Wellness seconds after Gout Gout became the second-fastest aged under 20 ever to run the distance, in an astonishing knock at the Australian Athletics Championships.

Interviews with the athletics sensation were not broadcast, much to the frustration of viewers, including those at a watch party attended by his former school mates. Gout graduated from Ipswich Grammar School just months ago.

Viewers took to social media to vent their fury, labelling the move as “embarrassing”, a “bloody disgrace” and “bloody ridiculous”.

How is Seven’s playout handled nowadays that only QLD suffered the cut-off?

Shouldn’t the originator’s programming (HSV or whatever) override all other feeds (except ads) until the conclusion of the transmission?
