What a finish

Certainly looks like Peter Donegan has been shafted this year. Jason Richardson and even Bruce himself doing post race interviews with PD having little input.
So much for all that garbage about Seven switching to HD for major events. Not sure who said that but they’ve been well and truly proven wrong.
I don’t think it really matters…
At least Peter Donegan is still there!
Bruce’s profile is obviously the best choice post-race, with millions of people watching.
I don’t think Peter Donegan ever really recovered his Ch7 career after calling the track & field for nines London Olympics coverage😜
Hahahahaha.
At long last…Hamish off the telecast…it took a horse trampling him to get rid of his inept broadcast skills. Albeit temporary but it seems even horses don’t like the bloke.
Usain Bolt officially launched the new Nitro Athletics League in Melbourne today. It will be held at the city’s Lakeside Stadium and shown on Seven with semis on February 4 and 9, 2017 with the final on February 11. It will feature six teams of 24 athletes with Bolt leading an all stars team.
Usain Bolt launches Nitro Athletics
The world’s greatest athlete, Usain Bolt, will compete and captain the ‘Bolt All-Stars’ in a new sports entertainment series set to revolutionise global track and field. A high energy, team-based competition, Nitro Athletics will see the stars of Australian and international athletics compete across three nights of blockbuster entertainment at Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium in February 2017.
Nitro Athletics Melbourne will feature six teams of 24 athletes (12 women and 12 men). Teams will come from Australia and internationally and will be announced in the coming weeks.
Nitro Athletics will be like no athletics competition seen before and will not just feature traditional events – this will be a different spin on traditional athletics and will include a mix of power, endurance, technique and teamwork disciplines across sprints, distance, field and para-athletics events. Mixed events and relays will also feature in the Nitro program as team’s battle for points and the Nitro Athletics Melbourne crown.
Nitro Athletics Melbourne is supported by the Victorian Government, will be broadcast live on the Seven Network and will be staged on Saturday 4th and Thursday 9th, with a final on Saturday 11th February.
Night one and the final of Nitro Athletics Melbourne will feature the same program with the Thursday night program offering a selection of alternative events.
So if they’re combining events to make them more exciting presumably the 100m runners will have to outrun the javelin.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race leads the way in women’s cycling with live broadcast on Seven and stellar teams line-up
Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren today announced an all-star line-up of international teams and riders for the Deakin University Elite Women’s Race which forms part of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, 27-29 January 2017.
In exciting news for the event and women’s cycling, Minister Eren also announced the Race will be broadcast live on the Seven Network on Saturday, 28 January 2017, the first time an Australian women’s cycling race has been broadcast live since the World Championships in Geelong in 2010.
“This is another win for gender equality in sport – and every step towards equality counts.
“The star-studded line-up for the race is simply outstanding. We knew the Elite Women’s Race would attract some of the world’s best cyclists and we were right.
“The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race isn’t just a stunning sporting spectacle, it shines a spotlight on one of Victoria’s most prized tourist destinations and creates new opportunities for local businesses.” Eight UCI Women’s Teams, two international teams and four Cycling Australia National Road Series teams will battle it out for line honours as the women’s UCI 1.2 race gains significant attention in only its second year on the UCI calendar.
Cycling fans and sport lovers unable to get to the Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast regions to see some of the world’s best female cyclists in the Deakin University Elite Women’s Race are encouraged to watch all the action on the Channels of Seven live broadcast between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, 28 January 2017. The Race will also be streamed live on the PLUS 7 Live app.
It is pitiful that Channel 7 isn’t showing the golf in HD (I’m in Sydney). I can hardly see the golf ball (it is small!) on the screen, the picture quality is awful.
Not watching the Australian Open at all
That was last week anyway. World Cup this week.
I had the same problem playing golf, couldn’t find the ball when it went in the rough because it’s so small!!
###Australian PGA Championships
Starts Thursday
Aussies Adam Scott and Marc Leishman lead a star-studded field including Englishman Ian Poulter, American Harold Varner III and defending champion Nathan Holman, at the Australian PGA Championship this week.

Seven’s golf coverage will be streamed on the PLUS7 app, with coverage on mobile, giving Australians access anywhere, anytime on any device.

##Inside Volleyball
From Sunday 4 December at 9:30am
The incredible growth of beach and indoor volleyball Australia is set to be rewarded with confirmation this week of a new weekly television show on the Seven Network.
The weekly half-hour program, Inside Volleyball, will begin on Sunday, December 4, and will be screened on 7TWO. It will be hosted by experienced Olympic commentator, Jonathan Fogarty, and include Australia’s best past and present players.
The show will feature highlights from Australia’s helloworld indoor and beach Volleyroo teams, as well as the best action from around the world.
“This is a great vote of confidence from the Seven Network in our fantastic beach and indoor volleyball teams,” Volleyball Australia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rod Harys, said.
“There are so many sports in Australia vying for media attention, so to have a commitment to screen a weekly program focusing on our helloworld Volleyroos is a great boost for everyone involved.
“It is also a wonderful reward for our sponsors, like Gina Rinehart and helloworld, who have helped our athletes achieve their dreams.”
The announcement comes ahead of a busy 2017 for volleyball, with Australia set to host a round of the world-class beach volleyball World Tour, as well as the finals of the prestigious men’s indoor World League and women’s World Grand Prix.
Volleyball can also boast an enviable record attracting sponsors.
“At a time when most Australian sports are struggling to hold on to sponsors, let alone attract new ones, Volleyball Australia has been an incredible success story,” Volleyball Australia President, Craig Carracher, said.
“Our numbers speak for themselves. We have grown from a $3m annual turnover two years ago to $9m in 2015/16, which is even more impressive when you compare with most other national sporting organisations.
“A weekly panel show on a free-to-air channel is the next stage of our evolution. Channel 7 is the perfect fit, given our common Olympic pedigree, and it will help us find new partners as well as introduce our sport to new fans.
“This is the norm around the rest of the world, where volleyball is incredibly popular. We are doing everything we can to catch up and bring the global profile to Australia.”
Seven’s Head of Sport, Saul Shtein, welcomed today’s agreement.
“Seven is delighted to showcase volleyball,” he said.
“We will see our teams competing with the best in the world, and we are delighted to become a partner with Volleyball Australia.”
Inside Volleyball will run for 25 episodes, beginning Sunday, December 4, at 9:30am on 7TWO.
Seven has tweeted that today’s coverage at the Australian PGA Championship has moved from main channel to 7TWO at 5pm AEDT. It will stay on main channel in WA. Today’s session was extended to make up for yesterday when a storm halted the golf.
[quote]The Perth Lynx have backed up their stellar on-court performance with a live broadcast deal for two upcoming WNBL games.
Perth’s home clash against the Dandenong Rangers next Sunday and their game against the Adelaide Lightning on December 18 will each be shown live on the Seven Network in WA.
