That SCA V/O has been used for many years now, 10+ I’d say, used to do SC10 sponsor billboards, community idents, classification warnings (such as that weekend morning music show in place of Video Hits) and paid presentation advisories.
I’m pretty sure that SCA voiceover guy (Surely someone knows his name?) has been around for many many years, since the days of Ten Capital and even the final years of Capital Television in Canberra/Southern NSW.
Where’d you find this?
Good to see this finally happen. Hopefully one day 9Gem and 7mate will both return in HD too as per the metro areas.
This would give them the perfect opportunity to shuffle the channel numbers so that Nine is on 5 and Ten is on 8 to match the rest of the country. Guess not…
How many times do we need to go through this again?
It’s the WIN markets (aside from Northern NSW who were lucky to escape this debacle due to timing) where the LCNs are wrong, not the other way round!
The fact is that WIN and SCA didn’t swap channel numbers when the affiliation switch happened. The numbers were never official, it’s just how the analogue channel numbers developed over the decades and the digital allocations were handed out based on the analogue numbers.
The fact is that the national standard now is Nine on 5 and Ten on 8. Spencer Gulf and Broken Hill are the only areas that are different to the rest of the country and the onus is on them to change. Because I can’t see the entire rest of the country changing and upsetting millions of regional viewers again just to put Nine back on 8 and Ten back on 5 just because “it’s the way it used to be”.
Shame just as the metros are all launching dual HD channels that they’re not skipping straight to that. Better to have main channel HD than just a multi though.
Still no 7flix is disappointing, odd that they have 9life and not flix.
I think you’re forgetting about the Nine O&O NBN which is on the 8x LCN …
It won’t change
Also a pity the local Southern Cross News won’t be seen in HD, because it’s now on 7TWO!
I thought that was just a repeat? Is it only on 7TWO?
If they had to move it because Seven went to a newshour, they should schedule it at 5:30 or 7pm instead
That’s right. After 7 news moved to an hour they permanently moved the local bulletin to 7two.
Thought they’d keep it at 7pm and move Home and Away instead.
Weird!
The latest Free TV operational practice for LCNs does not specify which number ranges are allocated to regional broadcasters except for 7 Queensland and RC&E VAST.
In reality of course, you are right.
You’re right, but since they are the largest out of the regionals, they have inadvertently set the new standard for channel numbering outside of the cities. I’d like to see Northern NSW and Spencer/Broken change just for consistency. They’re the odd ones out now.
I like the channel ordering they’ve chosen for the 10 channels. I don’t think Northern NSW pre-WIN was in the same order.

A Crawl ran on Seven SA regarding the changes, but it had information for 10 and 10 Bold:
One on 7mate was correct for Seven:
How hard would it be to knock up a basic promo to run throughout the day/night? Doesn’t have to be fancy.
