Seven (Southern Cross)

Yep, can confirm 7mate via GWN and SCA (Central) are native HD. 10 Bold HD via SCA, on the other hand, is upconverted.

Yes, same goes for both stations in the Northern Territory. It looks awful.

I wonder if they’ll change their HD channels when NPC takes over playout next year

Also hoping SCA do a deal to broadcast 7Flix like Prime have.

We will probably see those changes when SCA moves over to NPC. I’m also expecting SCA’s Network 10 stations to transition over to High Definition.

I think they are allowed to broadcast 7flix now but they don’t out of convenience. But with NPC this might not be an issue.

They refused to add 9Life in SA or on TDT for a while because they thought it was too expensive but eventually they were effectively forced to add it because without 9Life their 9 stations weren’t playing enough Australian content and were in breach of ACMA rules.

Which wasn’t much of an issue anyway because they fixed that by running Today on replay on GO! during the day. Not sure if they have stopped doing that.

Sorry didn’t reply to this earlier; yes they stopped playing repeats of the Today show in those markets after they introduced 9Life

SCA say HD services are tentatively expected to commence late March 2020 in the Spencer Gulf region. (Source: Facebook)

A new design for Spencer Gulf’s TV Classifieds segment. It was probably updated when the corporate logo changed, but haven’t seen it uploaded anywhere yet.

what the???

Sounds like an SCA play-out error (and a pretty significant one at that), as IIRC, SCA air Nine channels in a number of regional areas, while also airing Seven in Tassie, sharing the same facility?

Looks like SCA is having a crossover episode with Nine, first John Hunt now Go!'s getting into it. What’s next, an old ten sponsor board? :joy:

They also handle playout for the Nine Tas (TDT) joint venture station. It’s all done out of HQ in Canberra.

This used to happen a lot more back in 2004 when the centralised playout facility in Canberra for Southern Cross was first commissioned. I can remember seeing 7 promos airing on SC10 nearly every 2nd commercial break. Giving cross promotion a new meaning, lol. It’s rare nowadays but it does happen occasionally.

Also broadcast on Southern Cross in Tasmania and NT.
I can understand why SC chose to air the Melbourne NYE fireworks every year, but Moomba Parade has no relevance to Tasmania and NT.

Tasmania has a public holiday on Monday.

CSAs now appear to be produced/available in native HD since the move to NPC, despite the vision being upscaled in this example. @Abesty
