RAY MARTIN UNMASKS THE MYTHS OF OUR REGIONAL ROAD CARNAGE
PRIME7 LOCAL NEWS SPECIAL
7.30PM MONDAY 27TH NOVEMBER
The man giving a voice to regional Australians, RAY MARTIN, presents a compelling PRIME7 LOCAL NEWS special exposing one of the biggest killers in Australia – the way we drive on our roads.
Last year, 380 lives were lost on our roads in NSW, and a staggering two-thirds of the road toll occurred in country areas. Country residents are four times more likely to be killed on the road than someone who lives in the city*.
Premiering 7.30pm Monday 27th November, IT WON’T HAPPEN TO ME will reveal the shocking reality of fatalities on regional roads and who is to blame for the growing road toll.
Featuring emotionally charged first-hand accounts, Ray Martin confronts the sobering consequences of road trauma and the impact on local communities and reveals why we continue to ignore the dangers.
IT WON’T HAPPEN TO ME is the third public affairs special produced by PRIME7 and presented by Ray Martin in the past 12 months.

Probably relatively few people compared to the entire Taree-Port Macquarie market (because the translator at Laurieton is mainly there to fill in for a spot that the main TV tower at Middle Brother misses), but I’m sure there are some annoyed viewers nonetheless!
“Linking Provider” would be whoever Prime7 has outsourced the carriage of the signal from the playout centre near Ingleburn in Sydney to eg. Lookout Hill where the main Ballarat transmitters are.
I think a “child site” would be a relay transmitter that relies on its signal being fed through that main TX site, possibly as a direct rebroadcast of that signal.
Yes. And for Prime it is Digital Distribution Australia (DDA) which is owned by WIN and also provides WIN’s links. I wonder if WIN is also having problems?
To somewhat explain the problem, this means that Bendigo, Ballarat, and Gippsland are having issues. DDA’s network is a series of microwave links connecting all the towers - Mt Taylor (Bairnsdale), is fed via Mt Tassie (Traralgon) which is fed via Mt Dandenong (Melbourne) which is fed via Ballarat which is fed via Mt Alexander (Bendigo), which is fed via Shepparton, Albury, Wagga etc.
Given that Shepparton appears to be up, I’d suggest there’s a problem somewhere between Shepparton and Bendigo.
However, it’s strange that there’s no mention of problems for Mildura - it is fed via Mt Alexander also.
Correct, however in this context it may just mean lower powered sites, regardless of how they are fed, since Warrnambool (Mt Dundas) is fed via microwave links via Ballarat and is almost certainly out if the others are.
I assume this is purely a regional matter (nothing to do with Seven, BCM, Telstra, etc)?
Prime7’s social media (which I’m positive is run out of Canberra, also where studios/production/presentation staff are based) mentioned they were contacting their “network operations centre”, which I assume is MediaHub?
Prime’s executives/admin seem to be based in Sydney, Jones Bay next to Seven HQ though.
NB/
Seven has to be the messiest network in Australia, too many facilities to rely on IMO.
