So on 7mate in Melbourne at the start of the program just before (because obviously they’re automated, apart from the text):

Do Seven usually air idents during the news? I’m on the Sunny Coast atm and they aired one with “Gottaloveit > 7” just before the sports segment.
It’s the same as the ident which airs on Prime a lot.

Nope, last time it aired was early this year (January 7th at around 9:30PM during Tennis Coverage.)

Watch Prime. They play it in pretty much every ad break.
7 air this ident on their regional QLD feeds all the time.
I imagine it’s because ads aren’t quite in the same demand in many regional areas as in Seven’s metro areas.
Yeah, usually appears at the very start or end of a break. Occasionally shows up when shows do the little breakaway for a news update and they need to pad it out.
I presume it is because live news is difficult to plan ad breaks for. The metro can work around that but regional stations might not have enough ads of the correct length to perfectly meet the break, so they chuck an ident in there instead of airing a black screen.
Just my inebriated reasoning of the situation.

Or as the logo suggests “Seven Seven Studios”

As opposed to:
“Produced by Seven Productions”.
Cause that’s absolutely the reason why they changed the name, so it read better in press releases…
