What made Seven think it was necessary to change the logos of their multichannels? Sure the previous logos for 7TWO, 7mate and 7Flix weren’t anywhere near the best ever designs in the world, but at least they were recognisable and somewhat reflected the personalities of each individual channel. These new ones are like something I’d expect from a Year 9 school project!
couldn’t have said it better myself.
And there we have it!
The fonts are so generic, but all seem to be different? At least different widths?
What could have been a decent, good refresh for the Seven Network is now a train wreck.
Vomit
This makes 10 TV Australia look good.
The only one I really don’t mind is the 7two logo.
That 7flix one is worse than 7mate.
7flix was my favourite logo out of the originals, followed by 7mate.
What a shame.
The purple for 7flix is way too dark too and the general “vibe” of the new look really doesn’t match “7flix” (doesn’t feel young and fresh like the previous package).
Nice job Seven.
It really is some of the worst design I’ve seen in along time
It’s not quite that bad.
On the whole, the refreshed graphics themselves are alright. Are they likely to win major awards for branding design? Probably not. But for what they’re worth, the basic elements of Seven’s new look are fine.
The terrible new logos for the multichannels, 7Plus, Seven Sport and (more likely than not) eventually Seven News are the elements which are really letting the whole brand down IMO.
It’s nice to dream
God tell me if this is a dream or some sort of glitch in the matrix.
This Seven rebrand is
I’ll be honest I prefer it to the ugly looks each channel had before but it’s not great. Their old logos were disgusting.
The problem with the new multichannel logos is it’s change for change’s sake. The old logos were perfectly fine and Seven could have implemented a uniform on-air look without changing them
The shades of orange, blue and purple match the red 7 but not sure they needed to do that. Might have been better to keep the pastel blue shade from the old 7mate and the pink from the old 7flix.
I don’t mind the matching fonts now. I was never much of a fan of the bold 7TWO, 70s style 7mate and ugly 7flix font.
Yikes! I mean it’s fine to keep logos consistent but its personality should be expressed through it’s presentation. They’re going the wrong way about it.
Edit: 7two have a promo with the tagline of ‘Great British Mysteries’ when Murdoch Mysteries is Canadian
I don’t mind the 7two one. But the Flix one is hideous.
They should of just left Flix the same style and just changed the colour.
Has anyone mentioned … 7+ being used on promos then the + disappears in behind the 7.
Just noticed it on the AGT promo.
Late to the party here… Good to finally see everything up to date. I actually didn’t discover the new presentation today here on MS or on broadcast, but noticed the new logos just before on the 7Plus live streams (which then, naturally, brought me here).
There hadn’t been any 7Two or 7flix promos/PRGs/pop-ups on the main channel during the footy tonight.
With 7flix, I wonder if they consider purple less ‘girly’ to pink? We know the channel is targeted at young females (and is rating really well in those metrics), but I wonder if they wanted to bring more males to the channel, especially for programming like weekend movies, Wed/Thu crime dramas but especially The Simpsons / Futurama early evenings (which surely draw more of a crowd from blokes?) IMO the previous pink colouring looked incredibly girly and combined with the new graphics/templates (take that “Karate Kid” one from Zampakid) it looks a little more gender neutral now.
It looked nice to me, and I’m a male!
The colour is way too dark as @Nicholas did mention. The attempt for “gender equality” here has twisted the design and look.
