Doubt 7 wants to share that ad revenue with Facebook.
I meant on 7Plus not Facebook.
Weather with Daniel Gibson from Canberra tonightâŚ. VERY strange and certainly a first!
How was it handled?
Kim threw to the weather preview - obviously no wide shot - Daniel did his thing and then back to Kim. Seamless execution, just weird seeing a new face with no context.
That 7 News Tasmania set looks great - and should be the minimum level of set we see in Australia even for a small market. Imagine if WIN had something like that in Wollongong for the dozen or so markets it tapes news for.
According to a post on her Instagram, Kiah had a fall, and wonât be back until next week
Tried to check this out on 7+ but they have uploaded Sunday nights news under âMonday 15thâ (no listing for Sunday). Must have been prerecorded? Daniel did the 6.30 NSW news which I believe is live?
Youâd think that would be pre-recorded now.
But if not, I wonder if itâs similar to 10 News NSW/Queensland arrangements (half live, half recorded).
The 6:30 NSW news is still live, as is the 6pm North Coast bulletin. The other NSW regional bulletins are prerecorded.
My understanding is that the weather for Tasmania was prerecorded.
Absolutely⌠there were no current temps or interaction with Kim.
They had no one else they could use?
Previously they let anybody do the weather, so odd they couldnât get Rick or someone local or just get Kim to read it.
âŚyeah Iâm sure they didnât exhaust all their options before getting CBR to do it⌠Kaija had a fall, the other dude lives up north. I reckon they used their contingency plan to a tee.
Thanks, thought so. Do they have more than 1 full set in Canberra? Or do they just do a quick change from the Coast to the 6.30 bulletin? ( from when Iâve watched they usually seem to have a long enough closer for a quick presenter change)
One full set in Canberra. The other studio is a chroma key set, hence the localised backdrops of the updates.
Itâs a quick presenter change between Coast and 6:30. It helps that the 6:30 bulletin starts at the screen rather than the desk. The presenter to then move to the desk during the first package. Sometimes the closing graphic of the Coast bulletin is visible in the first half a second of the 6:30 bulletin as uploaded to 7+.
Anyway, weâre getting a bit off-topic. If you have more questions I suggest we move the discussion over to the 7Regional thread.
