Probably the change in colour scheme, maybe some actual production design for this special perhaps.
If you’re in Sydney and would like to be in the studio audience for our live referendum special then click the link below for details.
For TV lovers you’ll get to see the big studio with the sunrise and 7 news sets but also see how we’re transforming the Sunrise set (a lot of effort had gone into this and I think you’ll like it).
This looks good with some very credible guests.
Looking forward to it.
Return of a worm-esque chart? ![]()
Don’t see much interest in this by the general public. I think this is going to flop in the ratings.
General poor attitude to the referendum is a shame.
Rather than bothering to become informed most people are simply saying, “I don’t know what it’s about”, “I don’t know what it means”. Here’s a perfect opportunity to get some information but many simply won’t bother.
You might be right but we’re giving it a go anyway.
All we can do at this point is put on a good show and hope the public come if they truly do want to be informed.
It is good that you’re giving this a go.
Given its The Voice (reality) Grand Final that airs before ithis, i am hoping people do stay on to watch this Spotlight Special. Just hope its a strong start. But its a late-ish timeslot, so numbers may not be the grearest though throughout the hour.
Yep but Nine owns “the worm” so this is the renamed version…,
Ray Martin on the rival network will be interesting
Not new. He’s hosted programs on Ten (The Project), SBS and the ABC.
And he’s appeared on 7 as well previously. I’m thinking Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise.
Agree - the Voice Referendum has needed a tentpole event (in the same way debates and town hall forums provide that for elections) so it’s good that there’s at least something which is trying to do that.
Made the set looks great. Definitely that effort has gone into it.
Decent setup. They have managed to cover all of the sunrise elements well with the plackard pieces. The only bit that looks odd is the huge wall sticking out to the right of the set where Michael is, that doesn’t look great.
This could do decent numbers considering no 60mins on Nine
It’s a really slick show. And a productive conversation. Hasn’t been sensationalist but presented in a balanced way that hopefully reaches a broader audience than ABC or Sky.
Liam is the moderator not Michael?
From what i’ve seen, yes, Liam is the moderator, and Michael has been the host, going to the pre-recorded segments, and throwing to the ad breaks.
