Seven News Spotlight

It makes sense. Nat and Kochie should do the links too. Great branding. It’s def not a full time job.

The Diamond Jubilee concert 10 years ago aired on Nine as with the Golden Jubilee event

It was also in prime time 10 years ago but ratings were good

@TV.Cynic Is that the same event that Nine is airing Sunday morning? Seven is just relaying it 12 hrs later?

Yes

Yes - Nine will show the telecast commercial-free live ASET plus repeat it as well - main channel at 2pm in AFL states at 7pm on 9Gem in NRL territory.

So it’ll air twice on commercial tv before 7 air it? That’ll no doubt dilute 7’s ratings. Good on 9 for airing it live though!

Thanks. 7’s will obviously be available to a greater audience being in prime time. I just wondered why they weren’t airing it with 9 in the morning… that’s why.

At the end of the day, anyone who’s interested to see it would probably just watch it on Britbox or UKTV. The only people who would watch it on Nine or Seven are those whose remote controls are stuck on those channels.

Or who don’t have a subscription to UKTV or Britbox, which is the majority.

I imagine it will rate quite well. Tough comparison but just look at the Shane Warne Memorial - was available in certain states for hours before hand, prime time won over.

Only reason I can think to put this concert special under the 7 News Spotlight banner is to boost the average ratings for the show in the end of year summary. Otherwise it doesn’t fit the show’s format at all. It got an brief intro from Musher.

Seems like a waste to screen The Queen Unseen after the concert special when the majority of the audience that would’ve been interested in it will be tucked up in bed. Seven might’ve had more bang for their buck had they scheduled it as a Spotlight special next Sunday or pre-emted Big Brother tomorrow night.

It is a repeat though - first shown on Seven in January.

I thought the special airing later tonight was the one with the Queen’s personal home movies with her narration that premiered on British television last week?

That’s “Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen” and is going to ABC.
