Seven News (Regional Vic/NSW/ACT/WA)

Updates don’t.

You guys need to give up this idea of these hyperlocal bulletins. Seven will only supply what is legally required. There’s just no ROI in local news, so it’s not going to happen.

Gold Coast closed because it was superfluous. It didnt help with ratings, cost more than they were making back, and strained BTQ resources in switching from there. While it was a nice-to-have, it wasnt needed.

i notice you only cherry picked part of my question above which was

im wondering if its a cost cutting exercise or part of a plan to introduce news services to Canberra, Wollongong, Newcastle etc

My question was regarding what rationale they used when they decided to axe the Gold Coast local news bulletin on Seven Gold Coast.

I think you need to look at what people instead of trying to put your own spin on things. This is how the Daily Fail manufacture a story. The Daily Fail ‘F’ Grade journalism at its best. I dont rate Sly News much but its a fraction above The Daily Fail for quality - at least you can laugh at the commentators blaming Labor Party for everything that is going wrong.

Regional Western Australia is still yet to get the new graphics

Regional WA had new super graphics as of tonight

The regional updates haven’t received them as of yet.

The opening headlines of all the bulletins also have the old style but break throws have the updated ones so possibly prerecorded the same way the updates are recorded?

Can someone in this thread please try to preserve the last 7NEWS Coast bulletin with the old supers and graphics from 29th November 2024? It expires in a few days.

Thanks heaps! :sunglasses:

Seems like Regional WA has done away with OTS graphics since they received the new supers.
Assuming this is because the lightbox would heavily conflict with the now-straightened OTS graphics the other bulletins use.

I remember that they received a more-angled variant of the previous OTS graphics so that it matched the lightbox.

Might be time for them to just cut their losses and just replace it with a green screen. The printed graphic they have behind the desk has never looked good.

At least then they could be flexible with OTS graphics.

Go back to the newsroom look. It was drab, but some colour/printed logos/RGB lighting on the walls/window shades could’ve done a world of difference to that “set”.

Made the current 10 Adelaide newsroom look heaps better when they added mood lighting.

I fully agree, but it’s clear both Prime and now Seven had no interest in putting money into making those improvements :pensive:
