If that was happening you would think something would of been announced at the upfronts.
Maybe Seven Regional (NEN) should also reinstate noodle updates on GC Channel 6/60 now that 7NEWS Gold Coast (BTQ) on GC Channel 7/70 has been axed.
There’s some unique costs to Gold Coast that wouldn’t exist elsewhere, which make it uniquely expensive so you could probably do a decent amount with what they spent on the GC news, but they’ll probably just pocket their savings from the axing.
Seven win the ratings with the metro news, there’s no reason for investment in regional. Ideally they could make some changes to make the ex-Prime news up to the content quality and standard of the Regional Queensland bulletins.
The Gold Coast set would be nice as Nick mentioned.
One has to wonder whether Seven will try to raise the standards in regional NSW, Vic and WA to that of Regional QLD. I’m not convinced considering that Seven QLD gives Regional QLD a condensed metro bulletin as do Seven Victoria for the Albury market, but regional NSW receives a bulletin presented by former Prime7 employees in the guise of a national bulletin.
But then given the condensed Melb/Bris bulletins are apparently not very well edited sometimes, it’s probably a good thing regional NSW gets a dedicated 6.30 bulletin.
I don’t think Seven would have done the 6:30 bulletin if they owned Prime at the time - and would expect eventually they’ll revert to a cut down Sydney bulletin.
I would hope for them to just have that happen naturally, just not replacing any of the presenters if they leave and then redeploying the remaining staff for the 6pm local bulletins.
It’s what they really should be doing in Queensland but it can’t be a combined regional bulletin as the two states are very different
Friday November 22nd, 2024: Kirstie Fitzpatrick reading the 6.30pm news tonight
Updated lower thirds on the local bulletin tonight. To match those similar on the capital city bulletin. Opener hasn’t changed thought. Thought that isn’t in hd either. Ad brek was also was updated
How have they been updated? Are they using the correct fonts etc?
Was updated yesterday. Just checked on catchup. Didn’t really notice the font
I’m not sure what’s different then because the clips I’ve seen on Facebook don’t look any different graphics wise.
Last Night in the Central West:
6:30:
Still the same. Local updates the same yesterday awell.
EDIT: Border received the upgrade. Possibly controlled elsewhere?
Could be using Border as a test case maybe for whatever upgrades they’re receiving
Yeah. Also are the opening headlines prerecorded?
The opening headlines had the old style supers, but break throws were updated with the new ones. They also used one line text on a few l3s during sport so it might be controlled locally.
I think they will be the last to get the new graphics rolled out
7news coast, 6:30 and regional wa are yet to get the updated package. Everyone else has
All the ones that happen to be live
Coast and 6:30 now have new graphics
