Isn’t Sunshine Coast recorded as a single bulletin live? It usually uses the live VO unlike the other markets.

‘Live’ and ‘as live’ are two different things. All this is doing is streamlining recording and eliminating excess editing.

Sunshine Coast is done live to air - what is being planned AFAIK is that they are going to do the other bulletins in one take - no constant stopping for retakes, editing, etc.

It’ll still be better than WIN who edit in random Presenters halfway though their bulletin to intro a pkg or RVO/LVO.

I’m going to try and record all 7NEWS Regional QLD openers this Monday night at 6pm, and I’ll hopefully post the links to all of them here just before the bulletins finish at 6:30pm so that you folks can all see if the current poll results prove to be correct.

Sunshine Coast wouldn’t be any different - it’s all live to begin with, AFAIK the other’s are just switching to a ‘do it all in one take’ model, as if they are recording it live.

Indeed, this is just the beginning of a transition period. I expect that by 2025, Rob Brough will be out, and Joanne Desmond will be presenting the bulletins solo.
