Happy for Rosanna, and wish her luck on her quest to become Sunshine Coast Mayor

I wonder who will be their fill in weather presenter now?
I wonder who they’ll pair (if they will) with Joanne (or Emily Steinhardt) when Rob goes on break? Normally it’s Steve Titmus but he now does Gold Coast now.
What does 7 Qld bulletins do with big weather coverage like this? Do they go live for the market/markets set to be impacted most? Take Brisbane?

Yes, they go live to the market of immediate concern. In terms of storm coverage, Townsville, the Downs and Mackay had these instances before.

I was checking forums who watched the Cairns bulletin online, and they said Cairns last night was still pre-recorded. Can anyone confirm about this?

Cairns seemed to be pre-recorded. The voiceover still said “Live from the Sunshine Coast” on that bulletin

“Live from the Sunshine Coast” on a Cairns bulletin? I know it actually is presented from Maroochydore, but it seems strange they would announce that. (EDIT: Sorry, on reading again, I assume you were referring to the VO on the Sunshine Coast bulletin?)
When another market is presented live (I assume the whole bulletin is live), does Sunshine Coast get pre-recorded, or do they use different presenters?
I’m not sure how the 7QLD bulletins are played out - are they packaged together live like WIN News is (or used to be)? So would they have the facility to go live into all markets during a bulletin (switch Sunshine Coast feed to all) in the case of breaking news?

I think the post meant that because the Sunshine Coast bulletin started “Live from the Sunshine Coast” it meant that the Cairns one couldn’t be live. The SC bulletin is usually live.

Thanks. Yes, I realised that and edited my post before I saw your reply.
That kinda answers my second question too.

That’s interesting. I suppose he can replace Rosanna role too, if that eventuates.

Not going to lie it’s bizarre they don’t have Joanne Desmond co present in the Mackay, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast markets. They should’ve had co present those bulletins back in 2004 when they launched the Cairns and Townsville bulletins.
When Nine centralised production of the Darwin bulletin to Brisbane and had Jonathan Upton move to Brisbane he co presented the bulletin and the Regional Queensland bulletins with Samantha Heathwood. They didn’t have Samantha continue to read solo the Mackay, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast bulletins.

Watching the Cairns bulletin on 7Plus and the first story Adam Straney read his presentation was a bit stilted. He speaks softer compared to when he presented the weather on WIN News in 2022 where his presentation voice was like he was on radio.
