Noticed this from Seven Melbourne’s Blake Johnson:

Nothing wrong with it at all, just more curious than anything, as rival networks especially Seven and Nine and their employees rarely publicly mention each other, even something trivial and innocuous such as this.
I mean, similarly related, in early years of Nine’s tennis, Seven would go to petty lengths to source unsanctioned raw footage from somewhere without any Nine watermarks. Until I think some quiet words were had.
Networks with AFL and NRL regularly opt for Fox Sports’ watermarks, especially CFTA, since 2012 and 2017 respectively you almost never see see Seven or Nine’s watermarks.
And just today I noticed in a package Nine altered archival AO footage from the 1970s to crop Seven’s logo (microphone) out.
Laura Turner reading the Afternoon News in Melbourne today, while Mike & Karina are on 6pm duties tonight.

Rick Ardon’s voice sounds really old now. Sue still sounds alright.
Noted.
The Perth green box is so terribly ugly. Looks straight out of the 90s (when they ironically had a very real, very blue set)
They have a bizarre desk fetish and PlayStation 2 era graphics running a poorly rendered, over the top set of which no elements resemble real material.
Hate the wonky desk cover panel looks like it just gets squished/blutacked into place
Is this a sign Mitch has been cut back to 4 day per week?
Further to this, Mike and Karina’s presenting schedule changed this week as she did Tuesday 4pm and Mike did Thursday 4pm. They never used to present those days. So I have a strong hunch things have changed a bit in the Melbourne newsroom.
The sports shot is particularly bad. You can see greenscreen bleed and noisely keys bits of the desk. Tacky and lazy.
High chance given he only returned on Monday.
Hasn’t been reported or publicised though.
Agreed. When you have a purpose built studio there shouldn’t be any bleed or noise issues on a regular basis. Even the main OTS shots are fuzzy, and the graphic is always low res.
