Was that her though? There were other incidents (which I did mention above) at Seven News Melbourne reported in the media in recent years, but they involved Emily Angwin, Lynne Scrivens, Georgia Love and Nathan Templeton AFAIK.
According to The Australian’s Media Diary, the journalist stood down from Seven will undergo an assessment with a network-appointed psychiatrist this week. The column also said that she attended a union meeting with a number of Seven staff on Wednesday last week where they resolved to demand the network offer reporters, producers and crew a “26 per cent pay rise and for there to be a review of every person’s classification levels”.

Seven’s news anchor Michael Usher has gone from skating on thin ice at the network to being in line for a massive promotion after sashaying his way into the grand finale of this year’s instalment of Dancing With The Stars.
Although the amiable news anchor’s decision to compete in the reality television dance-off initially raised eyebrows – and some objections – from some corners of Seven’s newsroom, the move has certainly done him no harm. Quite the opposite in fact.
Diary hears Usher has overtaken Seven’s lead Sydney news presenter, Mark Ferguson, as the city’s most-trusted anchor for the first time after performing strongly in the network’s most recent audience engagement research off the back of his remarkable spin on the dance show.
The positive feedback comes at a crucial time for Usher, who has long been considered the heir apparent to front the Sydney 6pm news bulletins across the week.
Word is his contract is currently up for renewal and, with Ferguson failing to claim victory in the timeslot since replacing Chris Bath all the way back in 2014, Usher could soon find his airtime expanded.
Let’s hope so. 11 years for Ferguson is crazy compared to Bath’s 4.
They really have let Petey run his own race the last 10 or so years.
Last week Fergo wasn’t going anywhere. This week he’s on the verge of being let go. I reckon someone at Seven is having great fun feeding the Media Diary these conflicting narratives.
Hard to believe that Usher has just overtaken Mark now as the more popular anchor…
Diary said that the appointment with the psychiatrist was indefinitely postponed after a little back and forth between Seven and the suspended reporter’s lawyers at employment law firm Adero. The article also said that the reporter has now told friends that “the losers in Seven’s HR team are trying to dig up dirt” on her.
Stay classy.
Sounds like 7 ultimately did the right thing and she needs help.

Matt Carmichael must’ve finished now that Bathurst is over?
Correct. Mark and Ange acknowledged his departure in Sunday night’s bulletin.
Interesting Laura presenting over Katrina.
