The first name is the name of one of the lead characters in the TV series, Mom. The surname is the same as Sheldon’s.

The Age in Melbourne had an article about her (without naming anyone) and about the low morale in Seven’s Melbourne newsroom. Especially with ongoing claims by staff of underpayment and over work in the last four years.
The new building smell sugar hit didn’t last long. Not a good place to work.

The Inside Mail column has identified Christie Cooper as the journalist stood down from Seven - this is because Christie herself more or less confirmed it in a now deleted Instagram post on her account on Monday, where she denied many of the claims, such as asking for her YouTube channel to be sponsored.

Someone mentioned recently the need for 7 News Brisbane to have an NRL identify join their sports reading team. Perhaps they should consider grooming Corey Oates? He’s been working on KIIS FM breakfasts over the past year.

Christie Cooper was one of my favourite journalists from the last 15 years, always found her a top reporter. She did disappear for a while (around the time Paul Dowsley started sort of 2015). Recall she lead several significant stories and quickly became a favourite at HSV around 2012 - 2014. Believe she came back during COVID and held senior newsroom positions. So it’s a bit of a shock to hear what’s happening here. But yeah that deleted social media video, which was odd in itself all things considered, surely points to her (Annette Sharp’s piece now on news .com.au).
It’s interesting she seemed to be emphatically denying the Herald Sun’s story (somebody with a grudge at Seven?) and The Age/Nine’s article on the poor culture at the station as well.
Coming after former long-timer and rising star Emily Angwin spoke out against then-newsroom management some years ago. Namely 6pm EP Lynne Scrivens, I think just before news director Shaun Menegola’s ratings-winning run during COVID, on the poor working conditions/pay issues, which also noted long overtime hours and reporters all having to do shifts on new show “The Latest”, in an internal memo to staff.
Then there was the whole Georgia Love thing, over something so trivial, in another internal calling out, by the late Nathan Templeton in fact, which saw many support his take.

Kay McGrath’s former husband dies from brain injury in karate accident
TV personality Kay McGrath has lost her former husband after a training accident at his karate dojo, just months after the death of her fiancé.
Stacey Kirmos, the father of McGrath’s two sons Nick and Joey, passed away on September 30 at Gold Coast University Hospital after suffering a brain injury.
Mr Kirmos, 74, a black belt in karate, was training at his Benowa Dojo when he fell and hit his head.

Didnt she infamously refuse to wear a hard hat during a live cross? Apparently she didn’t want to mess up her hair - or as she allegedly and pretentiously put it, ‘it went against her brand’ (or some such nonsense). She went to work for a couple of international channels after leaving 7 - first CGTN then Al Jazeera English. Last I saw she was reporting for (I think) TRT World in Manila.
