No doubt. But as I’ve said, she’ll also be asking for more money to change positions. Good on her if Seven and Bec come to an agreement.
I don’t even believe this rumour anyway to be honest.
I’m not sure David is saying this. David has stated the roll of weekday sports anchor is not worth more $$$ than what she is previously on.
But to get Bec to move to Weekday sport, Seven would need to re negotiate her employment contract with the network.
Same - I meant it as a bit of a joke in my post a bit further up, and now look where we are .
Although, I guess that means the forums now had it’s weekly argument about possible presenter changes .
How are the numbers looking in Melbourne?
I think the gap may be narrowing - however, it’s also finals season, so the key will be if they can retain their numbers into summer or not.
Close over the last few weeks. They also had a win last night.
But it’s September (finals season).
Melbourne is tight. 9 definitely moved ahead this year. But it’s probably the tightest city in the country isn’t it?
It’s also often got the most news viewers across all channels in the country! Maybe Melbourne viewers are more interested in news, full stop.
Seems to be - since around 2018, it’s flipped between Seven (2019, 2023) and Nine (2020-22) winning.
That’s because it’s the biggest television market.
Is there a way we can see the actual city breakdowns like we used to be able to?
@TV.Cynic posts them daily in the ratings thread.
Here is yesterdays:
Also still does the weekly comparrions:
Why? Sydney has more people.
No it doesn’t.
Geelong is counted as part of the Melbourne TV market, while Central Coast, etc, is not counted in Sydney’s market. Means Melbourne is considred to be the larger TV market.
Sydney actually still does have more people as of the last census, but only just.
Melbourne, geographically is much larger and continues to grow while Sydney is stunted by geography. It can only go up not out.
They are close to overtaking Sydney, but they are not there yet.
Interesting.
Thanks for the insight. Have been wondering.
Back to presenters - Mike did an awesome job in Melbourne today from what I saw. He’s great at breaking news.
Grace has done a stellar job on the weather
