To present…Sydney’s news from Melbourne?
No. It was reported last week that Karina was headed to Sydney to fill in for someone soon.
9News Sydney 242,000, Seven 182,000 (total people)
How long do you think Seven will persist with Mark and Ange
- Until the end of the Year
- Till end of 2025
- End of the decade
- Will last beyond this decade
Fergo probably begged her not to do banter
Can we do a poll on how long Seven will persist with Mr De Ceglie ?
Coming Right Up
- End of the Year
- End of 2025
- 2026
- 2027
- 2028
- 2029
- He will last beyond 2030
I was going to say March 2025…
He’s currently fucked Brisbane up, now Sydney.
Times ticking…
And probably Melbourne next if there is any truth to the rumours about them planning to move Bec onto weeknight sport, and replace her on weekends with Karina.
They better leave their hands of Adelaide after the last time they messed around with that market.
Just as Melbourne is gaining ground against Nine.
But remember, since they are unstoppable, what could possibly go wrong .
Bec also has to agree to the position. Unless they offer her more money I’m not sure she’ll want to move from a premium news preventer to a weekday sports presenter.
Jono from 9News QLD moved from Weekend Anchor to Weekday sports last year so it does happen.
Yep… no doubt. But I’m sure Bec will be asking for more $$$ and an extend contract for the gig.
Unless it says in her contract that she must be on weekend news, I don’t think there is anything stopping them.
Could also be that her contract is up for renewal, and Seven would like to make some changes.
No way they’d accept that for doing less work. 8 min sports report 5 nights a week VS 2x 50ish minutes a week. No way that’s worth more $$$.
Cool, then I would say she’ll opt to stay in news presenting. As I said she would have things written into her contract with the network preventing her from moving from her position.
Bec does like sport… and has hosted major sporting events at both 9 & 7. So it wouldn’t be the most bizarre move.
Throw in a bit of national exposure hosting some AFL coverage and perhaps she might be happy.
I’m with @David on this one - no way she would go for a lesser paying role.
Also, every chance that her contract is expiring, and Seven could say - take this role, or no role.
What they did with Tim Watson - doing bits and pieces for AFL, including Talking Footy - wouldn’t just being paid for reading sport a few nights a week.
