I’d say any weather presenter earning over $100k should be on alert.
Seven Brisbane today has been using the QLD’s No 1 end board it seems to replace the previous one with presenters. That is already used for update type promos.
The other end board in use today is for promos for next week
Did Teegan get her own V/O, or did they just have “This is Seven News”

With Gertie Spurling filling in for Elspeth Hussy in Adelaide.
is there even a regular roster for 5pm in Adelaide? seems to chop and change between Elspeth and various weather presenters at whim.
Elspeth does Saturday, while Gertie does Sunday.
Another thing to note is Casey Trealor did weeknight weather, with Gertie reporting during the week, so they may be getting Gertie to do Elspeth’s duties when she goes on maternity leave.
Also, Tom Wilson is presenting sport this weekend.
They do seem to have presenters to spare, maybe with all these cuts they’ll have to streamline a bit.
To be fair, all three of them do reporting when they aren’t rostered on a presenting shift.
Mike Amor back presenting with Rebecca Maddern in Melbourne this weekend.
Also presenting weather tonight in Adelaide.
What’s the difference between speculating on the future of very high-paid TV hosts and that of footy coaches or politicians?
Mark Riley still on leave!!!
Can anyone with access please summarise this?
Greatly appreciated.
Mainly said they let her go due to her high priced contract compared to Max.
Thank you!
High-profile newsreader Sharyn Ghidella was axed by Channel 7 due to the much higher salary she was pulling in compared to her co-host Max Futcher, insiders have revealed.
Sources told Scoop the decision to make Ghidella redundant was “all about the money”, with the network ultimately choosing to retain Futcher - the cheaper option - as budget cuts continue.
Scoop can also reveal that, ironically, Ghidella was getting ready to film a 7NEWS promo video for the upcoming EKKA when she received the news of her dismissal on Friday.
What sort of contract was Sharyn on that let them sack her effective immediately or was she out of contract.
The Courier Mail said yesterday that her contract was up and they didn’t offer her a renewal.
Obviously and rightfully she was paid more than Max though.
Looks like Seven Brisbane may be prepared to take some short term pain for long term gain.
I remember when Frank Warrick retired in 2001, leaving Kay McGrath to present the bulletin solo for most of 2002 until Rod Young joined her on the news desk in November, their ratings remained south of Nine’s and it wasn’t until they poached John Schluter and Sharyn Ghidella, both from Nine, that they overtook QTQ’s news (which itself also went through some short term pain of their own before experiencing the ratings success they are now, and have been for over a decade) in the ratings.
