A decade and a half later (or thereabouts)!
Great to see her at a time when people ain’t working!

Great seeing Ann Sanders present, she has such class and authority!
Looks like Ryan is in for Jim tonight in Sydney.
Mel Mclaughlin is doing sport.
It must be around May 2006 that Ann last presented a Sydney 6pm bulletin on 7.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I believe Seven News Sydney would be a lot more competitive if Ann Sanders was the weeknight newsreader, instead of Mark Ferguson. Ann has qualities which Mark Ferguson simply does not have; not only is she authoritative, but she really connects with the viewers and overall, her presenting is far better. If Seven News Sydney really wants viewers to “make the switch” from Nine News Sydney, than Ann Sanders is the woman that can make it happen. She is a proven ratings success and her role as weeknight newsreader would be a point of difference from Nine News Sydney.
Fergo would walk if he got shunted to 5am. Jodie Speers is insufferable at 5am let alone on Sunrise.
Like all those years of winning ratings when she was weeknights previously?
While I have little doubt that Ann Sanders is an absolutely lovely person, I don’t think she’s the right person to lead Seven News Sydney to #1 when Ann hasn’t been particularly successful in leading the bulletin to the top in all her previous presenting roles (both on weeknights and weekends, solo and in a duo) on Sydney’s main evening bulletin.
Ah okay, Ryan just did 4pm then.
An all-female team then! Ann owns that desk.
LOL Fergo for an Early News?
Why bother emplpying him
Well Mark Ferguson isn’t exactly a ratings success, is he? It’s clear that Mark Ferguson isn’t the right newsreader to lead Seven News Sydney forward. Ann Sanders (or Melissa Doyle) has the potential to truly make Seven News Sydney competitive again, in my opinion.
On what grounds though? Her past failures at doing just that? The fact that she’s comfortably cruising out til retirement?
“Why bother employing him” - a very good question indeed.
Love Ann, and I think she brings authority to the 6pm News chair. However, Seven News Sydney will always struggle anchor wise, IMO, while Peter Overton, Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight are on Nine News Sydney.
Sharyn Ghidella is anchoring in Queensland tonight.
And as of 19 September 2016, Laura Dymock presents the weather in Queensland on Friday and Saturday evenings in place of Paul Burt.
Great to see Ann presenting tonight. She’s far better than Fergo
Ann Sanders has always reminded me of the Sydney version of Jennifer Keyte.
Need to give credit to Seven News in Sydney though, that has closed the gap with Nine significantly over the last year. After 40 weeks and 4 days Nine News is ahead at 6pm by an average of 26,000 (31,000 excluding Olympics).
At the same time last year the gap was 72,000 which is a big improvement. Some might say that some of that is because of the lead in, but you could just as easily say that Seven was only so far behind in 2015 because of its lead in then.
sophie Hull reporting in Perth???
Fingers crossed for Ross Symonds.
Mark Ferguson obviously. When I say ‘weekend’, I mean Friday and Saturdays in Sydney.
