Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2015-Sept 2020)

Well seeing Rebecca Maddern (2003) & Nick Etchells (2005) are now gone…

I think they might put Sam on weekends again (like in 2012) and put Blake on weather and 4.30 news (I think Blake’s pretty good for the local bulletin at 4:30).

That doesn’t work for me because its kind of a demotion for Sam then, to go from Reading the 4.30 news and weather 5 days a week to just doing the weekend bulletins…

I’ll mention that to Stokesy when we play golf later this week.

Sean Sowerby presenting sport in Melbourne tonight, most likely for the week.

Great to have Susannah Carr back behind news desk after her well deserved break

If Angela is front runner to replace Susannah Carr, who is front runner to replace Rick?

Jacqueline Felgate is expecting her second child. She is due in March next year.

Looks like we may see some new fill in presenters at Seven Melbourne in the coming year.

Blake?

Or will they offer Tim McMillan or James McHale big $$$?

Sure will be interesting too see who covers Jacqui’s maternity leave on Afternoon News in 2017.
At one stage we had Bec,Nick and Jacqui as fill ins and now we only have Nick McCallum, they really need some new presenters desperately now.

Seven should try getting David Johnston to come out of retirement to fill the void left by Jacqui!

I would hope Emily would be considered by Seven, she definitely has potential.

If only Rebecca Maddern was still here. She would probably be the 1st choice for replacement. I was hoping she was the presenter for the afternoon news from the beginning. Jacqui just doesn’t click on me.

Unfortunately Seven didnt look after that talent very well.

David was one the best newsreaders in this country and after such a long career is probably enjoying his retirement years. He retired over 10 years ago and in that time if he wanted to return in some capacity he would have by now.

Well, that’s certainly the case on the East Coast at least.

In recent years, network defects have generally gotten better treatment than those who’ve been loyal to Seven News for decades! :confounded:

 Just look at the people who defected Seven for Nine: Bec Maddern, Georgie Gardner, Natalia Cooper etc.

Lisa Wilkinson, Sonia Kruger…list goes on!
