The team that should’ve been presenting the weeknight bulletin. Both men exude warmth and class. Hope Jim succeeds in his new role but I have reservations about him as a talk radio presenter. Perhaps he’ll surprise us.
I notice Mark Ferguson wasn’t mentioned specifically.
Yeah, I guess we’ll have to wait and see (or more to the point, hear) how Jim Wilson goes as a talkback presenter.
Of course I could turn out to be completely wrong, but surely the lure of possibly being involved with NRL coverage in the future (whether on 2GB or Nine) was something else that would’ve lured Jim away from Seven?
Should we read anything into that, given that Jim wouldn’t have presented alongside Fergo (yes, I know about most of this week…) for too much of the last four years?
Personally I would’ve included a bit more “Chris & Jim” banter during the tribute package myself, but of course it seems that Seven don’t want to give their viewers too many reminders of “the good old days” for their Sydney news service!
Considering Jim defected to another network, that is a nice farewell. Shows how much he is respected. Is the management different now to those that demoted him to weekends?
Hate to be that person, but not sure they should be hugging.
Good to see that Seven’s Sydney News had a sendoff to Jim Wilson tonight. 28 years at the network is a great achievement. It was a nice touching montage to him
So, so proud of our beautiful friend #jimwilson who was all class in his farewell on air last night after 28 years with the 7 network. We weren’t expecting a mention but your kind words made me blubber like a baby yet again! I’m going to miss working with you so much, but we are so excited about your new role as the drive presenter on @2gb873 You are going to be so brilliant on the radio. You are one of the kindest, most generous, caring people I’ve ever worked with, and a dear friend for life. So excited for you.
