Not sure if that is a rhetorical question, and you’re suggesting Kay won’t be around for long, or you’re genuinely asking.
John did the weekly Flashback segment for a few (2?) years after he stepped down from weather. When some presenters retire from their roles but remain with “the family”, I assume they stay until their existing contract expires and then they quietly disappear. It was in 7’s best interests though for there to be an amicable departure and for Kay to come back and do special reports from time to time.
