Katrina Blowers replaced Kay McGrath earlier this year, who retired after 40 years. That would explain why it is now more competitive on weekends. But, weekdays is more interesting.
Sharyn Ghidella and Max Futcher have been anchoring together during the week for the past two years. They won both of those years, after losing to 9 for 4-5 years. Yet, so far this year they’ve really been struggling (last night was close actually). Still quite the change…

I do know that, I just thought someone else was anchoring due to the ratings changes being so swift and unexpected. Have no idea why Queenslanders would turn to Nine. Katrina Blowers seems like a worthy person of taking on the role of weekends. And for weekdays, it’s all the same anyways.

I have noticed that this past week or so, Europe bureau chief Hugh Whitfeld has been reporting from the same fixed location somewhere in London.
I would like to think that it could be related to his place of residency.
